Karate Kid Legends on 4K and Blu-ray in August

The 2025 sequel “Karate Kid: Legends” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray, 4K SteelBook, and Blu-ray on August 26th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Jonathan Entwistle directed the movie. It stars Jackie Chan, Ralph Macchio, Ben Wang, Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Wyatt Oleff. It’s worth noting this film is “Verified Hot” based on audience ratings at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, accompanied by Dolby Vision or HDR10, and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The 4K release(s) will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. All versions (4K and Blu-ray) include a digital copy of the film, compatible with Movies Anywhere.

Retailer Walmart will get an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray Collector’s Limited Edition with a skateboard (pictured below). This release appears to be limited to 510 units (in total), with each skateboard individually numbered and a wall mount kit.

There will also be an Amazon exclusive box set called “The Karate Kid Ultimate Collection“ on 4K UHD Blu-ray coming August 26th. It’s now available for preorder. Night of the Living Dead 1990 on 4K in September

The 1990 remake of “Night of the Living Dead“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on September 23rd via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Tom Savini directed the film, which George A. Romero produced. It starred Tony Todd and Patricia Tallman. The movie is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year.

The 4K release includes both the new UNRATED “Uncensored Cut” and the theatrical release. Both versions will be presented in 2160p video in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 form of high dynamic range. The sound will be presented in Dolby Atmos, lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround, and 2.0 surround (for theatrical cut only). The 1983 film Krull comes to 4K in September

The 1983 film “Krull“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on September 16th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Peter Yates directed this film. It starred Ken Marshall, Lysette Anthony, Freddie Jones, and Francesca Annis.

The movie has been restored from the original camera negative and approved by Cinematographer Peter Suschitzky. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10. It comes with Dolby Atmos, lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround, and 2.0 surround sound. This 2-disc set will be a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. A digital copy of the film, compatible with Movies Anywhere, is also featured.

The 1975 film “Monty Python and the Holy Grail“ comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on August 26th. This release will be via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones co-directed the film. It starred the “Monty Python” comedy troupe. This included Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.66:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 form of HDR with Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and Mono sound. The 2025 film Until Dawn is coming to 4K in July

The 2025 film “Until Dawn” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray & Blu-ray on July 8th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film adaptation of the video game, of the same title, was directed by David F. Sandberg. It stars Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Odessa A’zion, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Maia Mitchell, and Peter Stormare.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray (included) feature a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound.

EDITORIAL NOTE: This release will be a different type of “combo pack” for Sony. This [primarily 4K] product will be the only way you can purchase the movie on Blu-ray [in HD]. This has been a growing trend over the past few years with a few other studios and boutique labels. Frankly, it’s much easier to report on one release that contains both 4K and HD versions. Even for me as a news editor, this simplicity is appreciated. Now, I’m sure some consumers don’t own a 4K display or player. Some will not want to pay the extra price. I hear your concern, but I think this is, unfortunately, now a reality.

The 2015 film “Fury” will get a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release on July 15th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. David Ayer wrote and directed the movie. It starred Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, Jon Bernthal, Jason Isaacs, and Scott Eastwood. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” by critics on Rotten Tomatoes. NOTE: This film was previously released on 4K UHD Blu-ray back in 2018. This version features Dolby Vision, whereas that version only had HDR10.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.40:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 form of high dynamic range. The 1985 film “St. Elmo’s Fire” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 24th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Joel Schumacher directed and co-wrote the film. It’s celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. It starred Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson, Mare Winningham, and Andrew McCarthy.

The movie has received a new 4K scan from the original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10. It includes Dolby Atmos, as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo lossless mixes. The release will include a digital copy, compatible with Movies Anywhere.
