The 2019 documentary “Memory: The Origins of Alien“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc on November 19th via Screen Media Films, according to retailers. The subject of focus for the documentary is the modern Sci-Fi classic film “Alien” from 1979. Memory: The Origins of Alien was both written and directed by Alexandre O. Philippe, best known for making other documentaries about classic films – such as “The People vs. George Lucas” (2010), “Doc of the Dead” (2015), and “78/52: Hitchcock’s Shower Scene” (2017). The documentary itself features lots of artwork, behind-the-scenes footage, insight, and new interviews with folks discussing the film (Alien). It’s certainly worth noting that this was executive produced by Diane O’Bannon, wife of the late screenwriter Dan O’Bannon.
Tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed, so far. This documentary was just released theatrically yesterday, as to which it’s already getting some positive reviews from the likes of the Los Angeles Times and The New York Times. You can find more information about this film on the official website as well as via the official trailer (over on YouTube). The Blu-ray Disc is now already available for preorder over at Amazon and Best Buy. Stay tuned for further any details, as I have put in a request for info from the distributor (Screen Media Films).
