The 2004 film Ray is coming to 4K in February

The movie has received a new 4K scan from the original 35mm camera negative, approved by Director Taylor Hackford. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and lossless sound, on a BD-100 disc. The audio format and configuration(s) have yet to be detailed by Kino Lorber, but stay tuned for an update. The 2-disc release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray is not yet available for preorder at Amazon or Walmart, but stay tuned for an update on that very soon. In the meantime, you can preorder directly via the Kino Lorber website. The bonus materials included with this release are listed below, sorted by disc.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) high dynamic range, along with Dolby Atmos and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD MA 5.1 sound. Both the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray will include a digital copy, compatible with Movies Anywhere.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are now available for preorder at Amazon. Also, you can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder at Walmart. The bonus materials set to be included with the physical media releases of this film are listed below.

HBO mini-series “Watchmen” on Blu-ray in June

The 2019 TV mini-series (limited series) adaptation of Watchmen appears to be coming to Blu-ray Disc on June 2nd, via HBO, according to retailers. The show, based on the graphic novel of the same title, was adapted by Damon Lindelof and ran for a total of 9 episodes. The cast for the series included Regina KingYahya Abdul-Mateen IITom Mison, Sara Vickers, Jeremy Irons, Andrew Howard, Louis Gossett Jr., Jean Smart, and Tim Blake Nelson. Tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed, but stay tuned hopefully very soon for an update. The Blu-ray is now listed for preorder over ar Amazon and Best Buy. Barry Jenkins film “If Beale Street Could Talk” is coming to Blu-ray in late March

The 2018 Barry Jenkins directed film If Beale Street Could Talk coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 26th, via Fox. The film, based on a book and nominated for 3 Oscars, stars KiKi LayneStephan JamesRegina King, Colman Domingo, and Teyonah Parris. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p video in the 2.00:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD and digital copy of the film both included. There’s a pre-order listing live for the Blu-ray now over at Amazon.
