The 2017 film The Snowman is coming to 4K in May

The 2017 horror film “The Snowman” will get 4K UHD Blu-ray and Special Edition Blu-ray releases on May 26th via KL Studio Classics [Kino Lorber].

Tomas Alfredson directed the movie, which starred Michael Fassbender, Rebecca Ferguson, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Val Kilmer. The supporting cast included J.K. Simmons, Jonas Karlsson, Michael Yates, Chloë Sevigny, Toby Jones, James D’Arcy, and Ronan Vibert. Martin Scorsese served as an executive producer on the motion picture.

Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) high dynamic range, and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo sound, on a BD-100 disc. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc Special Edition counterpart included. Tech specs for the Special Edition Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with lossless DTS-HD MA 5.1 and 2.0 sound, on a BD-50 disc.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Special Edition Blu-ray are not yet available for preorder at Amazon or Walmart, but stay tuned. Consumers can already preorder directly via the Kino Lorber website either 4K or Special Edition Blu-ray releases. The bonus materials included with the release(s) are listed below, sorted by disc.

The 2026 movie “Mercy” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on April 7th via Amazon MGM Studios, distributed here by Alliance Home Entertainment.

Timur Bekmambetov directed the film, which stars Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p UHD video presentation in a 2.20:1 aspect ratio, Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) form of high dynamic range, and Dolby Atmos sound. The Blu-ray tech specs include a 1080p HD video presentation in 2.20:1 aspect with Dolby Atmos sound. No bonus material will be included with either release.

“Dune: Part Two” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on May 14th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The film, directed Denis Villeneuve, stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux, Souheila Yacoub, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound. Each version contains a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon. Also, the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are available for preorder at Walmart. It’s certainly worth noting that there will be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) and a “Dune 2-Film Collection” available on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray. The SteelBook preorder is pending. The film, directed by Denis Villeneuve and based on the novels by Frank Herbert, stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Stellan Skarsgård, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian, and Zendaya. It should be noted, at the time of writing, this film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect and Dolby Atmos sound. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting its Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray getting its DVD counterpart, and a digital code (copy) of each included — compatible with Movies Anywhere. The 2019 sequel “Doctor Sleep” starring Ewan McGregor is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 4th via Warner. The film, a sequel to The Shining based on the novel by Stephen King and directed by Mike Flanagan, co-stars Rebecca Ferguson, Kyliegh Curran, Cliff Curtis, Zahn McClarnon, Emily Alyn Lind, Selena Anduze, Robert Longstreet, Carel Struycken, Carl Lumbly, Henry Thomas, Bruce Greenwood, Alex Essoe, and Roger Dale Floyd.
