2004 film The Stepford Wives is coming to Blu-ray in June

The 2004 film adaptation of “The Stepford Wives” starring Nicole Kidman is coming to Blu-ray Disc on June 1st via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, based on the book (of the same title) and directed by Frank Oz, co-starred Matthew Broderick, Bette Midler, Christopher Walken, Faith Hill, Jon Lovitz, and Glenn Close. The tech specs for the Blu-ray have not yet been detailed, nor have bonus materials [if any are] set to be included on the release but stay tuned for an update. HBO limited series The Undoing comes to Blu-ray in March

The 2020 HBO limited series “The Undoing” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 23rd, 2021, via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The limited series, created by David E. Kelley and directed by Susanne Bier, starred Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Edgar Ramirez, Noah Jupe, Lily Rabe, Noma Dumezweni, Sofie Gråbøl, Matilda De Angelis, Ismael Cruz Córdova, and Donald Sutherland. The tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, spanning across two BD-50 discs for the 6 episodes. The release will come with a digital code (copy) of the limited series. You can now find the Blu-ray listed to preorder over at Amazon. The bonus materials set to be included with the release are listed below.

“Days of Thunder” races to 4K UHD Blu-ray May

The 1990 film Days of Thunder starring Tom Cruise will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in style with a 4K UHD Blu-ray release on May 19th, via Paramount. This film was directed by the late Tony Scott and featured a supporting cast of Nicole Kidman, Robert Duvall, Randy Quaid, Cary Elwes, John C. Reilly, and Michael Rooker. It is known, from the artwork (pictured above), that the release will not come with a Blu-ray as typically found on 4K releases and instead will only include a digital code (copy) of the film.

UPDATES: Paramount has confirmed to me that this title is officially coming out on the date mentioned above. This rumor has been confirmed. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray listed for preorder over at Amazon. You can also find the 4K UHD Blu-ray now listed over at retailer Target available for preorder. It’s worth noting that it is stated clearly via Paramount that this has been “newly remastered from a 4K film transfer supervised by producer Jerry Bruckheimer.” Amazon has now posted the rear package art and we now have the tech specs which include video in both HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range with a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 sound mix. The release will include two bonus materials features, on the 4K disc, which are listed below, both previously never included on Blu-ray. However ironically enough, the Trailer for the film, originally on the Blu-ray is not included here.

The 2019 film Bombshell starring Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, and Margot Robbie is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 10th, via Lionsgate. The film, based on a true story & directed by Jay Roach, co-stars John Lithgow, Allison Janney, Malcolm McDowell, Kate McKinnon, Connie Britton, Liv Hewson, Stephen Root, and Mark Duplass. UPDATED: Tech specs for the Blu-ray include video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with  Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. Yes, you read that correctly. The Blu-ray Disc will come in the form of a “combo pack” with it getting a DVD counterpart and digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the Blu-ray listed for preorder over at Amazon. The bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed below.

The film, which was directed by Neil Burger, co-stars Nicole Kidman, Aja Naomi King, Jahi Di’Allo Winston, Genevieve Angelson, Golshifteh Farahani, Tate Donovan, and Julianna Margulies. Tech specs for the release include 1080p HD video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD and a digital copy of the film included. The Blu-ray is available for pre-order now over at Amazon and at Best Buy. There is no info yet regarding tech specs or bonus materials set to be included on the release. The film, directed by James Wan, co-stars Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman. Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio in both Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of High Dynamic Range with Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio, without the sound format being yet specified. Stay tuned for an update on that. RUMOR: the DC Extended Universe film “Aquaman” starring Jason Momoa appears to be coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on (or around) March 26th via Warner. This comes from the placement amongst other upcoming titles on a certain retailer. The film, directed by James Wan, co-stars Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, and Ludi Lin.

The tech specs and bonus materials for the releases have not at all been detailed, but stay tuned for a later update. It is known that both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K UHD Blu-ray getting a Blu-ray Disc included, the Blu-ray getting a DVD included, and both will include a Digital Copy of the film. Both the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray of the film are now available for pre-order over at Amazon and Best Buy. Lastly, it is known that Best Buy will be getting an exclusive Steelbook for both versions of the film (on 4K and Blu-ray) which you can find pictured below.
