Truth Be Told Series on Blu-ray in February

The AppleTV+ original “Truth Be Told: The Complete Series” will be released on Blu-ray Disc on February 25th. The distributor is Fifth Season. The show, which ran for three seasons (2019-2023) won several awards and got critical acclaim during its run. It starred Octavia Spencer in the lead role. The cast also included Mekhi Phifer, Ron Cephas Jones, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood, and David Lyons in supporting roles. Each season had a special guest star. Aaron Paul appeared in season 1. Kate Hudson was featured in season 2. Gabrielle Union co-starred in season 3. This release is locked to Region A.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.10:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound, spanning across an 8-disc set. It seems that no bonus materials will be included with this release. The Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon.

2004 Dawn of the Dead remake on 4K in January

The 2004 remake of “Dawn of the Dead” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 31st, 2023 via Scream Factory (Shout! Factory).   The film, directed by Zack Snyder, with a screenplay adaptation written by James Gunn based on the 1968 George A. Romero film, starred Sarah Polley, Ving Rhames, Jake Weber, Mekhi Phifer, Mekhi Phifer, Michael Kelly, Kevin Zegers, Michael Barry, Lindy Booth, and Matt Frewer.

The film will be presented in the UNRATED cut on the 4K and both versions on the two additional Blu-rays included in this “combo pack” release.  The UNRATED Cut has received a “NEW 2022 4K Scan Of The Original Camera Negative” according to Shout! Factory.  Tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed but you can for sure expect a 2160p 4K video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with at least HDR10 form of high dynamic range and lossless audio in presumably 5.1 surround.  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray of the film available for preorder over at retailer Best Buy as well as directly via Shout! Factory‘s store.

8 Mile starring Eminem comes to 4K in November

The 2002 film “8 Mile” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 8th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment, according to numerous retailers.  The film, directed by Curtis Hanson, starred Eminem, Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer, and the late Brittany Murphy.  It’s certainly worth noting that the film won an Academy Award for “Best Music, Original Song” in 2002.

The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS:X immersive sound on a BD-100 disc.  The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart as well as a digital code, compatible with Movies Anywhere.  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.
