The 2024 film The Surfer comes to 4K in July

The 2024 film The Surfer is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 15th via Lionsgate Limited. Lorcan Finnegan directed the film. It stars Nicolas Cage, Finn Little, Rahel Romahn, Nic Cassim, Julian McMahon, Miranda Tapsell, Alexander Bertrand, and Rory O’Keeffe. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is deemed “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes, based on reception from critics.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 and Dolby Atmos sound. The 2-disc set will be a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart. A digital copy of the film is also included.

The 1990 film Air America comes to 4K in June

The 1990 film “Air America” gets a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on June 10th via Lionsgate as an Amazon exclusive. Roger Spottiswoode directed the movie. It starred Mel Gibson, Robert Downey, Jr., Nancy Travis, Ken Jenkins, David Marshall Grant, Lane Smith, and Art LaFleur.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround sound. The 2-disc set will be a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart. A digital copy will also be included with this release.

Flight Risk comes to 4K and Blu-ray in April

The 2025 film “Flight Risk” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on April 1st via Lionsgate. A 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook will also be available, as an Amazon exclusive, on the same date. The film, directed by Mel Gibson, stars Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Dockery, Topher Grace, and Leah Remini.

The tech specs for the 4K releases include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray have not yet been detailed, but stay tuned for an update. Each of the releases will come as a “combo pack.” With the 4K getting its Blu-ray counterpart included, and the Blu-ray getting its DVD counterpart included. All of the physical media releases of this film will come with a digital copy.

Den of Thieves 2 on 4K and Blu-ray in March

The 2025 film “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on March 4th via Lionsgate. The film was directed and co-written by Christian Gudegast. The cast includes Gerard Butler, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Evin Ahmad, Salvatore Esposito, and Meadow Williams.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack.” The 4K will include its Blu-ray counterpart and the Blu-ray will include its DVD counterpart. This set will include both films. This is the only way to get “Den of Thieves” (2018) on 4K UHD Blu-ray. That makes it exclusive to this set. It’s worth noting that both of these films are “Certified Fresh” based on critic reviews at Rotten Tomatoes.
