The Wolf of Wall Street coming to 4K in December

The 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 14th via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Martin Scorsese and based on a true story, starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey, Kyle Chandler, Rob Reiner, Jon Bernthal, and Jon Favreau.

The movie has received a new transfer that was supervised by the director, Martin Scorsese. The tech specs for the release have not yet all been detailed but stay tuned for an update. The 2160p video presentation should at least include HDR10 form of high dynamic range. The release will come with a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the standard 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. It’s also worth noting that a limited edition 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) will be available on the same date.

UPDATE: This 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook is now available for preorder over at Amazon and is listed as “coming soon” over at retailer Best Buy.

Scorsese film Shutter Island on 4K in February

The 2010 Martin Scorsese directed film Shutter Island is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on February 11th, 2020 via Paramount – to celebrate its 10th anniversary – in a limited edition SteelBook. The film starred Leonardo DiCaprioEmily MortimerMark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Max von Sydow, and Michelle Williams. UPDATE: Tech specs for the release include 4K video the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of HDR (high dynamic range) as well as DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder over at Amazon. The bonus materials on this release will be identical to those found on the 2010 Blu-ray release of the film. In fact, the release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc counterpart of the film set to be included.

Once Upon A Time in Hollywood on 4K and Blu-ray

The 2019 Quentin Tarantino film “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on December 10th, via Sony. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprioBrad PittMargot Robbie, Emile Hirsch, Margaret Qualley, Timothy Olyphant, Julia Butters, Dakota Fanning, Bruce Dern, and Al Pacino. Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and DTS-HD 7.1 Master Audio sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. Both the standard 4K and Blu-ray versions will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting the Blu-ray counterpart, the Bu-ray getting the DVD counterpart and each getting a digital code (copy) of the film. The film is now available to preorder on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc (in standard releases) over at Amazon. There will also be a very cool retro Collector’s Edition of the film released on 4K UHD Blu-ray (pictured below) which will include the physical extras like a 45rpm vinyl single of “Rick Dalton” music, a collectible MAD Magazine from 1969, and a fictional movie poster (starring “Rick Dalton”) in very beautiful packaging. This collector’s edition is now available for preorder over at Amazon.

“The Critters Collection” from Scream Factory coming November gets detailed

The upcoming release of The Critters Collection coming to Blu-ray Disc in a box set on November 27th via Scream Factory has officially been detailed. The release will contain the four films “Critters” (1986), “Critters 2: The Main Course” (1988), “Critters 3” (1991), and “Critters 4” (1992), spanning across a 4-disc set. Tech specs for the release have not been fully detailed, but we do know that the first two films have received new 2K scans from the original film elements. Stay tuned for further info regarding the tech specs for the films. The set is available for PRE-ORDER now over at Amazon.
