The 1967 film Point Blank on Criterion 4K in April

John Boorman directed the movie, which starred Lee Marvin. It co-starred Angie Dickinson, Keenan Wynn, Carroll O’Connor, Lloyd Bochner, Michael Strong, Sharon Acker, and John Vernon.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10-compatible) with uncompressed Linear PCM Mono sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with LPCM Mono sound. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

This movie has received a new 4K digital restoration, supervised and approved by director John Boorman. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon. 1963 film Donovan’s Reef comes to 4K in April

The 1963 film “Donovan’s Reef” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 15th via KL Studio Classics. The film was directed by John Ford. It starred John WayneLee Marvin, and Jack Warden. The film also featured Cesar RomeroDorothy Lamour, and Elizabeth Allen. Additionally, Dick ForanMarcel DalioMike Mazurki, and Edgar Buchanan were part of the cast.

The movie has received a new master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) and audio has yet to be announced. Stay tuned for an update regarding the audio. It will come on a BD-100 disc. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

It’s also worth noting. There will be a Blu-ray Disc Special Edition released on April 15th. This will also be via KL Studio Classics. You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray now available for preorder at Amazon. The Blu-ray Special Edition is not yet listed on Amazon, but stay tuned for an update. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance comes to 4K in May

1962 western The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance will officially be the first 4K UHD Blu-ray release in the Paramount Presents line on May 17th, as spine number 31, from Paramount Home Entertainment.  The film, directed by John Ford, starred James Stewart, John Wayne, Vera Miles, Lee Marvin, Lee Van Cleef, Woody StrodeEdmond O’Brien, Andy Devine, and John Carradine.

This comes from a new scan and remaster.  The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and restored Dolby TrueHD 5.1 lossless surround sound as well as restored Mono in Dolby Digital.  The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart along with a digital code (copy) of the film.  You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available now for preorder over at Amazon.  The release will include collectible packaging with tasteful artwork and a fold-out replica of the original movie poster (pictured below) on the slipcover.

1973 film “The Iceman Cometh” starring Lee Marvin is coming to Blu-ray in March

The 1973 John Frankenheimer directed film The Iceman Cometh starring Lee Marvin is coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 26th, via Kino Classics (Kino Lorber). The film co-starred Fredric MarchRobert Ryan, Jeff Bridges, Bradford Dillman, Juno Dawson, and Sorrell Booke.

Tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed but it is known that both the director’s cut and original theatrical cut of the film both have received new 2K restorations. The Blu-ray is already available to pre-order now over at Amazon. Bonus materials and the contents of this 2-disc set are listed below.
