1995 film Waterworld on 4K UHD Blu-ray in July

The 1995 film Waterworld starring Kevin Costner is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 9th via Universal, according to an early alert to retailers. The film, directed by Kevin Reynolds, co-starred Jeanne Tripplehorn, Chaim Jeraffi, and the late Dennis Hopper. Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and DTS:X immersive sound on a BD-100 disc. The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available to pre-order over at Amazon. This release will include the theatrical cut of the film in 4K and the additional extended version (with 40 minutes extra footage) in HD – both on the 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc. It will be a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray included that contains the theatrical cut of the film and a digital copy. It appears from the back of the package art, that this will not contain any bonus materials. Amazon lists that a teaser trailer will be included but that’s it. Stay tuned for any possible update on that.

Lastly, it appears that retailer Best Buy will have their pre-order listing up shortly as well as be getting an Exclusive 4K Steelbook for the release. “Field of Dreams” with Kevin Costner gets 30th anniversary 4K release in May

The film, directed by Phil Alden Robinson, co-starred James Earl JonesRay Liotta, Timothy Busfield, Amy Madigan, Gaby Hoffman, Frank Whaley, and Burt Lancaster.

The tech specs for the 4K include 2160p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic range and DTS:X sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc and a digital copy of the film included. The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for pre-order over at Amazon. Bonus materials set to be included on the release are identical to the previous Blu-ray release and listed below.

The film, directed by Phil Alden Robinson, co-starred James Earl JonesRay Liotta, Timothy Busfield, Amy Madigan, Gaby Hoffman, Frank Whaley, and Burt Lancaster. Tech specs and bonus materials have not at all yet been detailed for the 4K release. It is known that there will be an exclusive Steelbook for the 4K release available at retailer Best Buy (pictured above). That 4K steelbook and the standard 4K release both have placeholders over at Best Buy. The only other detail that seems to be obvious is that the release comes in the form of a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray of the film also included (as shown in the Steelbook art).

The TV series Yellowstone Season One starring Kevin Costner is coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 4th via Paramount. The show, which can be seen on Paramount Network, co-stars Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Danny Huston, Gil Birmingham, Brecken Merrill, and Jefferson White. Tech specs for the release include 1080p HD video in the 2.00:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound, spanning across a 3-disc set. This Blu-ray set is now available for pre-order over at Amazon. Bonus materials set to be included on the release, said to be roughly 80 minutes in length, can be found listed below.

The “Jack Ryan 5-Film Collection” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray this August

According to an early alert to retails the “Jack Ryan 5-Film Collection” it seems is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on August 21st via Paramount. The films had been rumored for 4K release individually, however now we get confirmation via this retail listing that they will be bundled – just as the first 4 films have been on both Blu-ray and HD-DVD formats. The release contains the following films:

  • Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit” (2014)
  • The Sum of All Fears” (2002)
  • Clear and Present Danger” (1994)
  • Patriot Games” (1992)
  • The Hunt for Red October” (1990)
