Freakier Friday comes to Blu-ray in November

The 2025 sequel “Freakier Friday“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc on November 11th via Disney. Nisha Ganatra directed the movie, which stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan. It co-stars Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Mark Harmon, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Christina Vidal, and Haley Hudson.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray Disc release include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround sound, on a BD-50 disc. The Dolby Atmos mix appears to be reserved for digital release only at present, as no 4K release is planned; more on that later. The Blu-ray release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its DVD counterpart included, along with a digital copy, compatible with Movies Anywhere.

UPDATED: You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon, but not Walmart, so stay tuned for an update on that soon when the situation changes.

The bonus materials set to be included with the Blu-ray release are listed below.

    • Making Things Freakier – More than two decades later, the band is back together! Go behind the scenes as returning cast members talk about reprising their roles. Learn about the stunts, taking on each other’s mannerisms – and how this film is a love letter to Los Angeles.
  • Where Were You When… – Join the original cast as they reflect on the fun and magic of the 2003 production and learn where new cast members were in 2003. Writer Jordan Weiss shares a great anecdote that reveals the fandom and staying power of the earlier classic.
  • Flashback Friday – This playful, narrated piece reveals the hidden nods to 2003’s Freaky Friday along with some “freakier” fun facts about the sequel.
  • “Baby” Lyric Music Video – Catch this heartfelt lyric video that combines clips from the movie with behind-the-scenes production footage.

EDITORIAL NOTE: As of yet, there is no 4K UHD Blu-ray release of this film planned. Perhaps later on, but for the home video release, Disney has opted for an HD physical media release only.

Once Upon A Time in Hollywood on 4K and Blu-ray

The 2019 Quentin Tarantino film “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on December 10th, via Sony. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Emile Hirsch, Margaret Qualley, Timothy Olyphant, Julia Butters, Dakota Fanning, Bruce Dern, and Al Pacino. Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and DTS-HD 7.1 Master Audio sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. Both the standard 4K and Blu-ray versions will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting the Blu-ray counterpart, the Bu-ray getting the DVD counterpart and each getting a digital code (copy) of the film. The film is now available to preorder on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc (in standard releases) over at Amazon. There will also be a very cool retro “Collector’s Edition“ of the film released on 4K UHD Blu-ray (pictured below) which will include the physical extras like a 45rpm vinyl single of “Rick Dalton” music, a collectible MAD Magazine from 1969, and a fictional movie poster (starring “Rick Dalton”) in very beautiful packaging. This collector’s edition is now available for preorder over at Amazon.
