The 1998 film The Faculty is coming to 4K in December

The 1998 film “The Faculty” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 17th via Scream Factory (Shout! Studios). The film, directed by Robert Rodriguez, starred Jordana Brewster, Clea DuVall, Josh Hartnett, Salma Hayek, Famke Janssen, Piper Laurie, Usher, Robert Patrick, Jon Stewart, and Elijah Wood.

The movie has received a new 4K restoration from the original camera negative, approved by director Robert Rodriguez. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 ratio with Dolby Vision HDR10 and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo sound. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon and you can preorder directly via the Shout! Factory website where you’ll get a bonus poster. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart. The bonus materials for this 2-disc set are listed below.

The 2024 film Trap comes to 4K and Blu-ray in November

The 2024 film “Trap” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on November 5th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The film, written & directed by M. Night Shyamalan, stars Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue, Saleka Shayamalan, Hayley Mills, and Allison Pill.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. The 4K and Blu-ray physical media releases both include a digital copy. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon. The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are also available for preorder at online retailer GRUV. The bonus materials set to be included with the releases are listed below.

The Halloween 4K Collection 1995-2002 in October

The Halloween 4K Collection (1995-2002) is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 4th via Scream Factory (Shout! Factory).  The release will include the following three films (and versions):

  • “Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers” (1995)
    • Theatrical Cut (88 min) / Producer’s Cut (95 min)
  • “Halloween: H20” (1998) Theatrical Cut (86 min)
  • “Halloween: Resurrection” (2002) Theatrical Cut (94 min)

Tech specs for the releases include 2160p 4K video presentations, with presumably at least HDR10 form of high dynamic range.  The aspect ratios will be 1.85:1 for “Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers” and 2.35:1 for the latter two sequels.  Audio will be presented in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo for all three films.

The bonus materials have not yet been officially announced.  It has been hinted by Justin Beahm that his Reverend Entertainment is working on some new bonus materials for the “Halloween: Resurrection” film specifically.  But, again, the special features are “in progress” and will be announced later.  So, stay tuned for an update on both.

This 4K set will come in the form of an 8-disc set with each film getting its own thick packaging and individual array cases (pictured below) with the Blu-ray Disc counterparts, housed inside a larger thick cardboard case.  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray set available for preorder over at Amazon as well as directly via the ShoutFactory.com store, where you’ll get 3 exclusive bonus posters (while supplies last).

Guy Ritchie film Wrath of Man comes to Blu-ray in July

The 2021 film Wrath of Man is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on July 13th via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Guy Ritchie, stars Jason StathamHolt McCallanyJosh Hartnett, Jeffrey Donovan, Scott Eastwood, Rocci Williams, and Andy Garcia. The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix — unspecified which format it will be in, although likely in DTS-HD Master Audio. Stay tuned for a possible update (clarification) regarding the sound format for the release. It will come with a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. It would appear that no bonus materials will be included with this Blu-ray release.

The film, directed by Daniel Roby, stars Antoine Olivier Pilon, Jim Gaffigan, and Josh Hartnett. The release will come with a digital code (copy) of the film. Tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. No bonus materials are set to be included on this Blu-ray release.
