Better Call Saul Season Six on Blu-ray in December

“Better Call Saul: Season Six” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 6th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.  The show, in its final season, created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, starred Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, Michael Mando, Tony Dalton, and Giancarlo Esposito.

The tech specs for the sixth season include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound, spanning across a 4-disc set.  You can now find the sixth season Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.  The bonus materials included with the season’s Blu-ray release are listed below.

Catwoman Hunted on 4K and Blu-ray in February

As announced today, during the “DCFanDome” 2021 event, there will officially be a DC Animated Movie called “Catwoman: Hunted” coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 8th, 2022 via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Shinsuke Terasawa, features the voice talents of Elizabeth Gillies, Stephanie Beatriz, Jonathan Banks, Steve Blum, Lauren Cohan, Keith David, Zehra Fazal, Kelly Hu, and Jonathan Frakes.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and a lossless 5.1 sound mix (likely in DTS-HD Master Audio, although yet confirmed). The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio and a lossless 5.1 sound mix. The 4K UHD Blu-ray will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will come with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart. Both the 4K and Blu-ray will include a digital code (copy) of the film which is compatible with Movies Anywhere.

UPDATE: You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. You also can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray both available over at retailers Best Buy and Target. There’s no sign that either retailer will be getting an exclusive.

1982 film 48 Hrs. gets Paramount Presents Blu-ray in July

The 1982 film “48 Hrs.” starring Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy is officially getting a new remastered Blu-ray Disc release from Paramount Presents on July 6th. This release will be spine #19 in the series. The film, directed by Walter Hill, co-starred Annette O’Toole, Frank McRae, James Remar, David Patrick Kelly, and Jonathan Banks. This movie has received a new 4K restoration. The tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed but you can very likely expect a 1080p HD presentation with lossless 5.1 surround sound. The release will come with a digital copy of the film.

1984 film Beverly Hills Cop comes to 4K in December

The 1984 film Beverly Hills Cop starring Eddie Murphy is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 1st via Paramount. The film, directed by Martin Brest, co-starred Judge ReinholdJohn Ashton, Lisa Eilbacher, Ronny Cox, Steven Berkoff, James Russo, Jonathan Banks, Stephen Elliott, Gilbert R. Hill, Joel Bailey, Bronson Pinchot, and Paul Reiser. Tech specs for the release include a 2160p 4K presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range. No word yet on the audio format and configuration for the release, but I have put in an inquiry about it to the studio [Paramount] and should be updating you on that soon. In the meantime, it’s worth noting the film has been remastered in 4K as stated below in an official statement.

“This action-comedy classic has been remastered in 4K with HDR and will be available in a 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo with Digital copy and is available now on 4K Ultra HD Digital.”

The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its Blu-ray counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film. There’s not yet a preorder listing available for this 4K UHD Blu-ray over at Amazon, but they do have a placeholder page up you can sign up to be emailed and alerted as to when it is. The 2019 film El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie is coming to Blu-ray Disc in a “limited edition” SteelBook officially on October 13th via Sony. The film, as seen originally on Netflix, was written & directed by Vince Gilligan (creator of the show “Breaking Bad” which it follows). El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie starred Aaron PaulJonathan BanksMatt Jones, Charles Baker, Jesse Plemons, and the late Robert Forster. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The release will come with a DVD counterpart of the film included in the SteelBook. However, no digital copy appears to be included with the set.
