The 1991 live-action film adaptation of “The Addams Family“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 9th via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, starred Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, Christina Ricci, Jimmy Workman, Christopher Lloyd, Dan Hedaya, Elizabeth Wilson, Judith Malina, Carel Struycken, and John Franklin. The film is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and will come with a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix — although yet to be specified. Stay tuned for a possible update on the sound details. The movie has been “newly remastered and restored under the supervision of director Barry Sonnenfeld” and will include both the original Theatrical Cut and an Extended Cut (a “never-before-seen “More Mamushka!” version, which expands the memorable dance number.”)
