There will be a second volume of “The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection“ coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 10th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment, according to retailers. The five films included in this set, also coming as individual 4K releases, are listed below:
The tech specs for the release of each of the five films include 2160p video presentations in (side matted) 1.33:1 and 1.85:1 aspect ratios with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio lossless sound in Mono sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with each film getting its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, making it a 10-disc set, and also include a digital code (copy) for each film. The release will include not only the physical form box set replica (of sorts) of the infamous “Psycho” house but it’ll even include blueprints, movie poster cards for each film, a booklet about his work, a “Do Not Disturb” door hanger sign from the “Bates Motel”, letters, and more. The 2000 film adaptation of “Charlie’s Angels“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-rayon October 22nd via Sony. The film, based on the TV series of the same title and directed by McG, starred Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Lui, Bill Murray, Sam Rockwell, Tim Curry, Kelly Lynch, John Forsythe, Crispin Glover, LL Cool J, Tom Green, and Luke Wilson. Tech specs for the 4K (although vague in the press release) would seem to include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio from a new scan with the HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range along with Dolby Atmos sound and even the original DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 mix.
UPDATE: You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for pre-order over at Amazon. The 4K release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that you will also get a Blu-ray Disc and a digital copy of the film included. Bonus materials set to be included on this 4K release and housed on the original Blu-ray are listed below.
