The 2013 film Mama comes to 4K in September

The 2013 movie Mama is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a “Collector’s Edition” on September 30th via Scream Factory. Andy Muschietti directed and co-wrote the movie. Guillermo del Toro served as executive producer. It starred Jessica Chastain, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Megan Charpentier, Daniel Kash, and Isabelle Nelisse.

The motion picture has received a new 2024 4K restoration. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

Guillermo del Toro film Crimson Peak on 4K in May

The 2015 film “Crimson Peak” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a limited edition set on May 21st via Arrow Video. The film, directed & co-written by Guillermo del Toro, starred Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Charlie Hunnam, Jim Beaver, Burn Gorman, Leslie Hope, and Doug Jones.

The release will include some physical extras (pictured below): A double-sided, fold-out poster, four double-sided postcards, limited edition packaging designed by Crimson Peak concept artist Guy Davis, and a Limited edition 80-page, hard-bound book featuring writing by David Jenkins and Simon Abrams, an archival interview with Guillermo del Toro, and original conceptual design illustrations by artists Guy Davis and Oscar Chichoni.

The movie has received a presentation approved by the director. Tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS:X sound. The Eyes of Tammy Faye on Blu-ray in November

The 2021 film “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on November 16th via Disney. The film, based on the true story & documentary (of the same title), directed by Michael Showalter, stars Jessica Chastain, Andrew Garfield, Cherry Jones, Mark Wystrach, Sam Jaeger, and Vincent D’Onofrio.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. It should be noted that a 4K UHD digital version of the film will be available, but not physically. You cannot yet find the Blu-ray available for preorder at any retailers, but stay tuned for an update. The Blu-ray will come with a digital code (copy) of the film.

The 2019 sequel “IT Chapter Two” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on December 10th. The film, based on the Stephen King story and directed by Andy Muschietti, stars James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, Andy Bean, Jaeden Martell, Wyatt Oleff, Jack Dylan Grazer, Finn Wolfhard, Sophia Lillis, Chosen Jacobs, Jeremy Ray Taylor, and Bill Skarsgård (as “Pennywise”). Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range as well as Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. The releases will both come in the form of “combo pack” with the 4K getting the Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray getting the DVD counterpart, and each receiving a digital code (copy) of the film.
