Watchmen Chapter II on 4K and Blu-ray in December

The 2024 DC animated movie “Watchmen: Chapter II” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on December 3rd via Warner Bros. Discovery Entertainment. The film, from Warner Bros. Animation, is based on the 1986 graphic novel series “Watchmen” by writer Alan Moore and illustrator Dave Gibbons.
The voice cast includes Matthew Rhys (Dan Dreiberg, Nite Owl), Katee Sackhoff (Laurie Juspeczyk, Silk Spectre), Titus Welliver (Rorschach, Walter Kovacs), Troy Baker (Adrian Veidt, Ozymandias), Adrienne Barbeau (Sally Jupiter, Silk Spectre), Corey Burton (Captain Metropolis), Michael Cerveris (Jonathan Osterman, Dr. Manhattan), Jeffrey Combs (Edgar Jacobi, Moloch), Grey DeLisle, Kelly Hu, John Marshall Jones (Hooded Justice), Max Koch, Phil LaMarr, Yuri Lowenthal (Wally Weaver), Geoff Pierson (Hollis Mason, Nite Owl), Dwight Schultz, Jason Spisak, Kari Wahlgren (Janey Slater), and Rick D. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. Both versions will include a digital copy. The 2019 Shudder original TV series “Creepshow: Season 1“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc on May 19th, via Image Entertainment (RLJE), according to Amazon. The show was based on the first two films of the same title and was produced by Greg Nicotero. In its first season, across six episodes and 12 tales, the show featured guest stars such as Adrienne Barbeau, Tobin Bell, Giancarlo Esposito, Dana Gould, Jeffrey Combs, DJ Qualls, and David Arquette. Tech specs for the Blu-ray have yet to be fully detailed but it is known that you can expect it to span across a 3-disc set. Stay tuned for any updates regarding bonus materials as well for the release, if and when I can get more info regarding it. It’s certainly worth noting that you can now find the Blu-ray Disc set already available for preorder over at Amazon.

1999 version of “House on Haunted Hill” Collector’s Edition on Blu-ray in October

The 1999 remake of the horror film “House on Haunted Hill“ is getting a “Collector’s Edition” Blu-ray Disc release from Scream Factory on October 9th. The film, directed by William Malone, featured a cast of Geoffrey Rush, Famke Janssen, Taye Diggs, Peter Gallagher, Chris Kattan, Ali Larter, Bridgette Wilson-Sampras, Max Perlich, Lisa Loeb, and Jeffrey Combs. Tech specs for the release include full 1080p HD video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The release has a PRE-ORDER listing over at Amazon. This new release of the film boasts a brand new 2K scan of the film as you’ll see highlighted a bit below in regards to bonus materials set to be included on the release.

2003 sequel “Beyond Re-Animator” with Jeffrey Combs on Blu-ray July
The 2003 Brian Yuzna directed sequel “Beyond Re-Animator” starring Jeffrey Combs is coming to Blu-ray Disc in a limited edition “Collector’s Series” release on July 24th from Vestron Video (via Lionsgate). For those who don’t know, this is the third film in the “Re-Animator” series of films based on a character created by H.P. Lovecraft. Tech specs for the release include restored full 1080p HD video in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio and remastered DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The title is available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon.
