Amazon Commissions Earned

The 1981 sequel Mad Max: The Road Warrior is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 16th, via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, according to numerous retail sources. The film, co-written and directed by George Miller, starred Mel Gibson, Bruce Spence, Michael Preston, Max Phipps, Vernon Wells, Emil Minty, Virginia Hey, William Zappa, and Kjell Nilsson.

UPDATE #2: this title has now been pushed back two weeks, along with the other sequel and box set (Anthology) to a new release date of November 16th (originally slated for 11/2).

The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The release is known to be coming in the form of a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included as well as a digital code (copy) of the film.

UPDATE #1: You now can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.

Meanwhile, you can find a product page (and soon-to-be preorder) for the 4K UHD Blu-ray over at retailer Best Buy. It’s most certainly worth noting that there will also be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook as an exclusive over at Best Buy (pictured below). That also has a product page but is not yet available to preorder.

It’s also worth noting that a box set called Mad Max Anthology on 4K UHD Blu-ray (pictured below) has appeared over at Amazon as well as retailer Target. This set will include the first film, “Mad Max” (1979), this film [“Mad Max: The Road Warrior” (1981)], “Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome” (1985), and “Mad Max: Fury Road” (2015).

It’s lastly worth noting, as pictured below, that the third film Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome (1985) will be getting a standard individual 4K UHD Blu-ray release and a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook, with the latter being exclusive to retailer Best Buy. You can now find this 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. Both releases of this film over at Best Buy have product pages, like the second film, but cannot yet be preordered. More on all of these soon when hopefully the studio announces these releases officially.
