1994 film Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein on 4K in March

The 1994 film “Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on March 29th, 2022 via Arrow Video. The film, directed by Kenneth Branagh and from a script co-written by Frank Darabont, starred Robert De Niro, Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Hulce, Aidan Quinn, Kenneth Branagh, and Ian Holm.

The movie has received a new 4K restoration, as noted below.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Uncompressed 2.0 Stereo and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.

The popular TV series The Crown: The Complete Fourth Season is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on November 2nd, via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The show, created by Peter Morgan, stars Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies, Helena Bonham Carter, Gillian Anderson, Josh O’Connor, Emma Corrin, Marion Bailey, Erin Doherty, Emerald Fennell, and Stephen Boxer.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.00:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound, spanning across a 4-disc set. You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. The bonus materials set to be included with the release of the fourth season are listed below.

Harry Potter Anniversary 8-Film Collection on 4K

The film Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone will get a 20th Anniversary 8-Film Collector’s Edition 4K UHD Blu-ray box set on November 2nd via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The extravagant box set, being released to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the first (2001) film in the franchise, will be packaged in a replica of the “Hogwart’s Express” train (as pictured above). The 8 films in the franchise set to be included with the set are listed below.

  • “Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone” (2001)
  • “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” (2002)
  • “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” (2004)
  • “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” (2005)
  • “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” (2007)
  • “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” (2009)
  • “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” (2010)

The tech specs for the releases should include the previous 2160p video presentations in the original aspect ratios with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS:X sound for each film. This set will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will also include the Blu-ray Disc counterpart in 1080p HD. All of this spanning across a 17-disc set. It’s unclear if a digital copy of each film will be included or not here, yet, but stay tuned for a possible update on that soon. This movie has received a new 4K remaster from the original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release include a 2160p presentation in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound as well as the original 5.1 lossless theatrical sound mix (in DTS-HD Master Audio). The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film. The TV series, which premiered in 2016 and created by Peter Morgan, stars Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies, Helena Bonham Carter, Ben Daniels, Marion Bailey, Josh O’Connor, and Erin Doherty. The tech specs for the third season of the show on Blu-ray include a 1080p HD presentation in the 2.00:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. UPDATE: there’s now an Amazon preorder listing up for the Blu-ray. The Blu-ray release of the third season of this TV series will come with the following bonus materials:

The 2015 live-action adaptation of Cinderella is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 25th via Disney. The film, directed by Kenneth Branagh, featured a cast of Lily JamesCate BlanchettRichard Madden, Helena Bonham Carter, Nonso Anozie, and Stellan Skarsgard. Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for pre-order over at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target. The 4K release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc included as well as a digital copy of the film.
