Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island Terror Time Blu-ray

The 1998 animated film “Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island“ comes to Blu-ray via a “Terror Time Collector’s Edition” set on October 28th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. Jim Stenstrum directed the straight-to-video movie. It featured the voice talents of Scott Innes, Billy West, Mary Kay Bergman, Frank Welker, B.J. Ward, Adrienne Barbeau, Tara Strong, and Mark Hamill.
The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.37:1 (or perhaps 1.33:1) aspect ratio with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 stereo sound, on a BD-50 disc. The Terror Time Collector’s Edition Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon.
The release will include some physical extras (pictured below) and the following bonus materials.

- Collectible O-card slipcover
- Clear Blu-ray case with interior artwork and chapter list inside
- Audio commentary by filmmaker and Scooby historian Matt Dugan
- Official Trailer

EDITORIAL NOTE: This is not the first time that this movie has been available on the Blu-ray format. In fact, it was released just last year (in 2024) via Warner Archive in a double-feature.

Super Friends Collection on Blu-ray in September

The original animated TV series “Super Friends!: The Complete Collection” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on September 10th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The show, which ran on ABC from 1973 through 1985, has been remastered and will be finally getting its HD release, for the very first time. It includes all 93 episodes of the Hanna-Barbera produced 1973 TV series via the following:
- Includes the “Lost Episodes”
- “The All-New Super Friends Hour” (1977-1978)
- “Challenge of the Super Friends” (1978-1979)
- “The World’s Greatest SuperFriends” (1979-1980)
- “Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show” (1984-1985)
- “The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians” (1985-1986)

Hanna-Barbera’s Superstars 10 on Blu-ray in February

There will be a release of the “Hanna-Barbera’s Superstars 10” complete film collection on Blu-ray Disc on February 20th in a box set (pictured above) as well as in individual releases (pictured below) via Warner Archive.

“In 1987, the legendary animation team of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera brought forth a series of ten feature-length animated features to television, all of which would feature their most popular cartoon characters. These films were sold into syndication as the HANNA-BARBERA SUPERSTARS 10, each providing irresistible entertainment. Jetsons: The Movie finally comes to Blu-ray in February

The 1990 film “Jetsons: The Movie” from Hanna-Barbera is finally coming to Blu-ray Disc on February 16th, 2021, via KL Studio Classics. The film, directed by Joesph Barbera & William Hanna, featured the voice talents of George O’Hanlon (“George Jetson”), Penny Singleton (“Jane Jetson”), Tiffany (“Judy Jetson”), Patric Zimmerman (“Elroy Jetson”), Mel Blanc (“Mr. Spacely”), and Jean Vander Pyl (“Rosie the Robot”). The tech specs for the release include lossless 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo sound mixes, and likely the video presentation in the intended 1.85:1 aspect ratio. You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. The bonus materials set to be included on the Blu-ray release are detailed below.

The Flintstones: The Complete Series on Blu-ray

The 1960 Hanna-Barbera animated TV series “The Flintstones: The Complete Series“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc on October 27th, via Warner. UPDATE: The release has now been pushed back by 2 weeks from the release date originally announced. The new date is now listed above, underlined. The animated TV series, created by Joseph Barbera & William Hanna, ran for a total of 6 years, 6 seasons, and 167 episodes, has been restored and looks marvelous. The Flintstones featured the unforgettable voice talents of Alan Reed (as “Fred”), Mel Blanc (as “Barney”), Jean Vander Pyl (as “Wilma”), and Bea Benaderet (as “Betty”). The tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed, but stay tuned for an update on that. It is known, so far, that this will be a 10-disc set, and not only will it include all six seasons of the show but it will also feature two bonus movies. Those two bonus movies include:
- “The Man Called Flintstone” (1966)
- “The Flintstones and WWE: Stone Age Smackdown!” (2015)

It’s certainly worth noting that back during this year’s Comic-Con (at Home) Warner Archive did a panel about Saturday morning cartoons and briefly discussed this upcoming release, as you can find HERE in a video (that should start around 33 minutes in). They discuss that they all have been remastered in high definition and how amazing they look. Hopefully, we will soon get more info regarding the bonus materials set to be included with the release as well as the exact tech specs. Stay tuned!
“Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?” comes to Blu-ray
The classic 1969 Hanna-Barbera animated TV show “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? The Complete Series“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc in a 50th-anniversary limited edition set on September 3rd via Warner. The set, styled after a mystery mansion, will be limited to 50,000 copies in total. Tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed, but you can expect full 1080p HD video and likely lossless (DTS-HD Master Audio) sound. The 4-disc set will include all 41 of the original episodes of the animated series as well as some new bonus materials and even physical extras like a Funko keychain and a “Scooby-Doo!” Encyclopedia (shown below).

“The Banana Splits Movie” comes to Blu-ray August
The 2019 horror/comedy “The Banana Splits Movie“ is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on August 27th via Warner. Yes, those loveable Hanna-Barbera children’s TV show characters are back and they’re edgy this time; like I mean, they’re really edgy. The film (rated R), directed by Danishka Esterhazy, stars Finlay Wojtak-Hissong, Dani Kind, Romeo Carere, Steve Lund, and Sara Canning. This movie is also set to air at some point also on the SyFy TV network, although that remains to be announced. So, it just seems it’s pretty much a direct-to-video premiere for this movie. Hell, I’m surprised it exists!!
The tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed but you can very likely expect 1080p HD video and some form of perhaps lossless 5.1 sound — although that is yet to be confirmed. The Blu-ray release will come in the form of a “combo pack” (certainly NOT for the whole family) with a DVD and digital copy of the film included.
