Murder, She Wrote arrives on Blu-ray in June

TV’s “Murder, She Wrote: The Complete Series” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on June 17th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The show ran a total of 12 seasons and starred Angela Lansbury as “Jessica Fletcher.”

This 62-disc set includes all 264 episodes along with an additional 4 TV movies. Bonus materials are also said to be included.

The tech specs for the release are speculated to include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.33:1 aspect ratio and lossless 2.0 stereo sound. The Blu-ray set is now available for preorder at Amazon. Stay tuned for any further details. Below you will find a product description.

1963 film Donovan’s Reef comes to 4K in April

The 1963 film “Donovan’s Reef” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 15th via KL Studio Classics. The film was directed by John Ford. It starred John WayneLee Marvin, and Jack Warden. The film also featured Cesar RomeroDorothy Lamour, and Elizabeth Allen. Additionally, Dick ForanMarcel DalioMike Mazurki, and Edgar Buchanan were part of the cast.

The movie has received a new master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) and audio has yet to be announced. Stay tuned for an update regarding the audio. It will come on a BD-100 disc. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

It’s also worth noting. There will be a Blu-ray Disc Special Edition released on April 15th. This will also be via KL Studio Classics. You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray now available for preorder at Amazon. The Blu-ray Special Edition is not yet listed on Amazon, but stay tuned for an update. 1952 film The Greatest Show on Earth gets Blu-ray in March

The 1952 film “The Greatest Show on Earth” is coming to Blu-ray Disc, as spine #16, in the Paramount Presents line on March 30th — according to an early retail source. The Academy Award-winning film (for ‘Best Picture’), directed by Cecil B. DeMille, featured a cast of Charlton Heston, James Stewart, Betty Hutton, Gloria Grahame, Dorothy Lamour, and Cornel Wilde. The movie has received a new 4K scan and restoration, according to the back package art. The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD presentation in (likely the original) 1.37:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio Mono sound. The Blu-ray debut of this film will include a digital copy of the film. You can find the upcoming Blu-ray already listed for preorder over at Amazon. It’s worth noting that the studio (Paramount) has not yet officially made an announcement regarding this release and I’m going on what a retailer is rather elaborately indicating here.
