The classic 1975 film “Jaws“ directed by Steven Spielberg is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 2nd, according to a full press release just issued by Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, a winner of a total of three Academy Awards (“Oscars”), starred Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, Lorraine Gary, and Murray Hamilton. The new 45th Anniversary Limited Edition of the film on 4K will be available in various forms including a collectible lenticular packaging with a 44-page booklet (pictured below in high resolution).
First, the tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HDR10+ forms of High Dynamic Range along with Dolby Atmos sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will also include the Blu-ray Disc and a digital code (copy) of the film. You can find the Exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook of the release available for preorder over at retailer Best Buy (pictured below).
The bonus materials set to be included on the release span across both the 4K and the Blu-ray Disc and are detailed below.

The 2020 version of “The Invisible Man” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on May 26th, via Universal, according to retailers. The film, directed by Leigh Whannell & produced by Jason Blum‘s Blumhouse, stars Elisabeth Moss, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Harriet Dyer, Aldis Hodge, Storm Reid, and Michael Dorman. The film received a very good response from both film critics and moviegoers, in fact, it carries a “Certified Fresh” rating over at Rotten Tomatoes. Tech specs for the 4K release include video presented in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ forms of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound on a BD-100 (100 gigabytes) disc. The technical specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. Both versions of the film (on home video) will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that the 4K will be getting its Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray will be getting a DVD, and each includes a digital code (copy of the film). The 2019 Bong Joon Ho directed film “Parasite“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 2nd, via Universal, according to retailers. The film, winner of 4 Academy Awards (including Best Picture), was previously released on Blu-ray earlier this year. The tech specs for the 4K release includes a video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and HDR10+ forms of High Dynamic Range and Korean Dolby Atmos sound on a BD-100 (100 gigabytes disc). The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included as well as a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray listed for preorder over at Amazon. The bonus material, comprised of a Q&A with Director Bong Joon Ho, will be identical to the previous Blu-ray but will also be presented in 4K resolution on the 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc. It’s lastly worth noting that The Criterion Collection also has plans to release this film in their collection on the Blu-ray format at some point later this year. BREAKING: Six well-known films have all been restored in 4K and will be getting an exclusive release on the 4K UHD Blu-ray format via what is being called the “Columbia Classics: 4K Ultra HD Collection – Volume 1“ box set, which is set for a June 16th release, via Sony. The set, a limited-edition collection, will be literally limited with only what is said to be fewer than 8 thousand units produced — as quoted below from the press release:
The six films in the COLUMBIA CLASSICS 4K ULTRA HD COLLECTION are only available on 4K Ultra HD disc within this special collector’s set with a limited-edition run of fewer than 8,000 units in the U.S

UPDATE: I have now talked with the folks at Sony and have the full details on this release for you, via an extremely lengthy press release that you’ll be able to read in its entirety, further below after the break. The tech specs for the films include 4K video with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and a variety of Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio sound mixes on the six different films. Lastly, regarding tech specs, it is worth noting that the film Gandhi will actually receive Dolby Vision and HDR10, in terms of video. You can find this 4K UHD Blu-ray box set already listed for preorder over at Amazon. Below (as mentioned) are the full details about this upcoming very limited box set.
The 2020 Disney / Pixar film “Onward” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on May 19th, via Disney, according to retailers. The film, directed by Dan Scanlon, features the voice talents of Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kyle Bornheimer, Mel Rodriguez, Lena Waithe, Ali Wong, Octavia Spencer, Tracey Ullman, Wilmer Valderrama, and George Psarras. The tech specs and bonus materials for the 4K and Blu-ray haven’t been officially announced yet, but, judging from the Disney+ and digital versions of the film, you can expect it to receive HDR10 on the 4K release and Dolby Atmos sound. It’s likely the Blu-ray will only get a DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 mix, instead of Atmos sound, but we’ll see. Both the 4K and Blu-ray releases will come in the form of “combo pack” meaning that they’ll include their Blu-ray / DVD counterparts (accordingly) and each receives a digital code (copy) of the film. Stay tuned for updates on the official tech specs, bonus materials, and as to when these titles get listed over at Amazon. You can, however, now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and the Blu-ray listed for preorder over at retailers Best Buy and Target. Also worth mentioning is the fact that each one of those retailers will be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray release of the film. Best Buy will be getting a 4K SteelBook (pictured below) and Target will be getting a Limited Edition Gallery Book on 4K (also pictured below).
The 2020 film “Birds of Prey” starring Margot Robbie, as “Harley Quinn”, appears to be coming to physical media on both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc, via Warner, on May 12th – according to retailers. This comes after the film was recently released early digitally when theaters closed during these strange times we currently are living in. The film, directed by Cathy Yan, co-stars Rosie Perez, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Ella Jay Basco, Chris Messina, and Ewan McGregor. The tech specs for the releases have not yet been detailed but it is believed that the 4K will receive both HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range as well as Dolby Atmos sound. The 4K it is known from the artwork (pictured above) will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray and a digital code (copy) of the film included. So far, that’s all based on retail sources and has not yet been officially announced by the studio (Warner), making it technically a RUMOR. It’s worth noting you can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray as well as over at retailer Best Buy, who will be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below), also now available for preorder. The 1986 film “Top Gun“ starring Tom Cruise is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a big way on May 19th, via Paramount. The film, directed by the late Tony Scott, is finally about to receive a sequel with “Top Gun: Maverick“ later this year and that’s likely why this release is timed for its theatrical release. Top Gun co-starred Kelly McGillis, Anthony Edwards, Tom Skerritt, Michael Ironside, Tim Robbins, Meg Ryan, and Val Kilmer.
The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film included. You can now find the standard 4K UHD Blu-ray release available for preorder over at Amazon and a placeholder page listed over at retailer Best Buy. It’s certainly worth noting that the film will be receiving a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release as well, available at all retailers, and now up for preorder over at Amazon and at retailer Best Buy. UPDATE: The tech specs and bonus materials for the release have been unveiled via the Amazon listing now with the back of the package art. Tech specs include video in HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The bonus materials will include some content in 4K on the 4K disc as well as on the original Blu-ray Disc release which comes with it.
