The Rocky Horror Picture Show on 4K in October

The cult classic 1975 film The Rocky Horror Picture Show is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on October 7th via 20th Century Studios (Disney). Jim Sharman co-wrote and directed the film. It starred Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Richard O’Brien, Patricia Quinn, Nell Campbell, Peter Hinwood, and Meat Loaf.

The movie has received a 4K restoration. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.66:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10, as well as Dolby Atmos and restored DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono sound. The 2-disc release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included, along with a digital copy compatible with Movies Anywhere.

Pixar movie Elio on 4K and Blu-ray in September

The 2025 Pixar animated film “Elio” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook and Blu-ray on September 9th via Disney. Adrian Molina, Domee Shi, and Madeline Sharafian co-directed this movie. It features the voice talents of Yonas Kibreab, Zoe Saldaña, Remy Edgerly, and Brad Garrett. It’s worth noting that this movie is “Certified Fresh” by critics and is “Verified Hot” by audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range, accompanied by Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 lossless surround sound, on a BD-50 disc.

The 4K SteelBook and Blu-ray will each come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with the 4K getting its Blu-ray counterpart, and the Blu-ray getting its DVD counterpart. A digital copy will be included with each version, compatible with Movies Anywhere. Ghost Killer gets 4K and Blu-ray in September

The 2024 Japanese film “Ghost Killer” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on September 23rd via Well Go USA. Kensuke Sonomura directed this movie. It stars Akari Takaishi, Mario Kuroba, and Masanori Mimoto. It’s certainly worth noting that, at the time of publishing, this film has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 20 critics’ reviews.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10. It also features Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 Dolby Atmos sound, with English subtitles. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio, accompanied by Japanese DTS-HD MA 5.1 and Dolby Atmos sound, as well as English subtitles.

The 2025 film “Superman” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on September 23rd via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. James Gunn directed and co-wrote the DC Studios film. The 1999 film End of Days is getting a 4K UHD Blu-ray “25th Anniversary Edition” release on October 7th via Scream Factory. Peter Hyams directed the film, which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. It co-starred Gabriel Byrne, Robin Tunney, Kevin Pollak, and CCH Pounder.

The motion picture received a new 4K scan from the original camera negative and has been approved by director/cinematographer Peter Hyams. The tech specs for 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation, in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio, with Dolby Vision and HDR10, accompanied by lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo sound.
