1989 comedy Major League is coming to 4K in April

The 1989 comedy “Major League” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 2nd via Paramount Home Entertainment, according to retailers.  The film, celebrating its 35th anniversary this year (as noted on the packaging above), was written & directed by David S. Ward and starred Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger, Corbin Bernsen, Margaret Whitton, James Gammon, Wesley Snipes, Rene Russo, Charles Cyphers, Chelcie Ross, Dennis Haysbert, Andy Romano, and Bob Uecker.

UPDATE:  The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the correct 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and lossless Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround sound.  The release will include a digital code (copy) of the film.  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon and Walmart.  It’s most certainly worth noting that there will also be a limited edition 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release (pictured below) that is available for preorder over at Amazon as well.  The bonus materials for both releases include all of the previous Blu-ray extras on the 4K disc. Those extras are listed below.

“Mr. Baseball” starring Tom Selleck on Blu-ray in June

The 1992 sports comedy Mr. Baseball starring Tom Selleck is coming to Blu-ray Disc on June 4th via Universal, according to an early alert to retailers. The film, directed by Fred Schepisi, featured a supporting cast of Dennis Haysbert, Ken Takakura, and Aya Takanashi. Tech specs for the Blu-ray have not yet been detailed nor have bonus materials if any even will be included. Stay tuned for a possible update on that.
