How to Train Your Dragon 2025 on 4K and Blu-ray

The 2025 live-action film adaptation of “How to Train Your Dragon” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on August 12th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. It will also arrive on 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured in the center above). Dean DeBlois directed the movie. It stars Mason Thames, Nico Parker, Gabriel Howell, Julian Dennison, Bronwyn James, Harry Trevaldwyn, Peter Serafinowicz, with Nick Frost and Gerard Butler.

It’s worth noting that this movie is “Certified Fresh” (based on critics) and “Verified Hot” (based on audiences) at Rotten Tomatoes. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in two different aspect ratios, including 2.39:1 and 1. 90:1 shifting, with HDR10, on a BD-100 disc. The 4K and Blu-ray will both include Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in 2.39:1 and 1.90:1 aspect ratios, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. A digital copy, compatible with Movies Anywhere, will be included with each version.

Lastly, it’s certainly worth noting that there will be both a 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray How to Train Your Dragon 2-Movie Collection also available (on August 12th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment). These collections are both now available for preorder at Amazon. It includes both the 2025 live-action and the 2010 CG animated movies.

Disney’s Lilo & Stitch is coming to 4K in May

The 2002 film “Lilo & Stitch” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray, for the first time, on May 6th via Disney. Dean DeBlois & Chris Sanders directed the movie. It featured the voices of Daveigh Chase, Chris Sanders, Tia Carrere, Kevin McDonald, Zoe Caldwell, and Ving Rhames. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes, based on critics’ reviews.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.66:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10. It will feature Dolby Atmos sound, with a Dolby TrueHD 7.1 core. The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. A digital copy, compatible with Movies Anywhere, will also be included.

DreamWorks animation “How to Train Your Dragon” and sequel on 4K in January

The DreamWorks animated film How to Train Your Dragon (2010) and its sequel How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) are both coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 22nd, 2019 via Universal. Each film will be released individually, as learned from an early alert to retailers. Both films feature the voice talents of Jay BaruchelCate Blanchett, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-PlasseT.J. Miller, Kristen Wiig, and Gerard Butler. Tech specs for the 4K releases include 2160p video in the 2.35:1 with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and DTS:X sound, on each film. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc and Digital Copy of the film included.
