Wicked: For Good comes to 4K and Blu-ray in January

The 2025 sequel “Wicked: For Good” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 20th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Jon M. Chu directed the movie. It starred Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, and Bowen Yang. It also co-starred Michelle Yeoh and Jeff Goldblum. It’s worth noting that this movie is “Verified Hot” by audiences at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) high dynamic range, Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio, Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K releases will each come as a 2-disc set “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Both the 4K and Blu-ray releases will include a digital code (copy) of the film, compatible with Movies Anywhere.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc are each now available for preorder at Amazon. Also, you can preorder the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray over at GRUV as well.

There will also be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release (pictured below), which will be an exclusive at retailer Walmart. It’s now available for preorder.

It’s most certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” (based on critics) and “Verified Hot” (based on the audience) at Rotten Tomatoes.

2021 film Chaos Walking is coming to 4K and Blu-ray in May

The 2021 film “Chaos Walking” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on May 25th via Lionsgate, according to retailers. The film, directed by Doug Liman, stars Daisy Ridley, Tom Holland, Mads Mikkelsen, Nick Jonas, Cynthia Erivo, Demián Bichir, and Ray McKinnon. The tech specs and bonus materials for the 4K and Blu-ray have not yet been detailed, as it’s awaiting an official announcement, so stay tuned for an update. It is known that the 4K and Blu-ray releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” (via the artwork) meaning that the 4K UHD Blu-ray will come with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, the Blu-ray will come with a DVD, and both will include a digital code (copy) of the film. The 2020 original TV series “The Outsider” in “The Complete First Season” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on June 9th, via HBO (Warner). The series, based on the novel (of the same title) written by Stephen King, was executive produced & partially directed by Jason Bateman, and it includes a cast of Ben Mendelsohn, Bill Camp, Jeremy Bobb, Mare Winningham, Paddy Considine, Yul Vazquez, Julianne Nicholson, Marc Menchaca, and Cynthia Erivo.
