1964 Sergio Leone film A Fistful of Dollars on 4K May

The 1964 spaghetti western “A Fistful of Dollars” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 31st via KL Studio Classics. The film, directed by Sergio Leone, starred Clint Eastwood and Marianne Koch.
In terms of the 4K restoration, the movie has received “over 24 hours of extensive shot-by-shot color grading of the logarithmic restored 4K files provided by L’Immagine Ritrovata” according to Kino Lorber. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation (without HDR) and lossless 5.1 and 2.0 Mono on a BD-100 disc. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. You cannot yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon but stay tuned for an update on that. Cry Macho comes to 4K and Blu-ray in December

The 2021 film “Cry Macho” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on December 7th, via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film based on the novel by N. Richard Nash, was directed by and stars Clint Eastwood. It co-stars Dwight Yoakam, Eduardo Minett, Fernanda Urrejola, Horacio Garcia-Rojas, and Natalia Traven.
The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect and DTS-HD MA 5.1 sound. The 4K UHD Blu-ray release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will also include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart. Both the 4K and Blu-ray releases will include a digital code (copy) of the film, which is compatible with Movies Anywhere.
UPDATE: you can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. The Blu-ray currently has a placeholder page over there [Amazon] but not yet an active preorder, so stay tuned. The only bonus materials set to be included with the releases are listed below.

In the Line of Fire with Clint Eastwood on 4K in June

The 1993 film “In the Line of Fire” starring Clint Eastwood is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 15th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, according to a retailer listing. The film, directed by Wolfgang Petersen, co-starred John Malkovich, Rene Russo, Dylan McDermott, Gary Cole, and the late Fred Thompson.
UPDATE: The title has now officially been announced by Sony. Tech specs for the release include a 2160p 4K video presentation, via a new 4K remaster from the original camera negative, in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The release will also come with the original theatrical sound mixes via 5.1 surround sound and 2.0 stereo sound mixes in the DTS-HD Master Audio lossless format. There will not be a Blu-ray Disc included with this release, initially, and instead, only a digital code (copy) of the film will be included — as quoted from the press release below.

The 1966 Sergio Leone directed spaghetti [Italian] western “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 27th via KL Studio Classics. The film starred Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach. The 4K release has been something that KL Studio Classics officially rumored (polled on) since 2017 and it’s now finally becoming a reality. The tech specs for the release include a video presentation in 2.35:1 aspect ratio without HDR (it seems) as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and newly restored DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono sound on a BD-100 (100 gigabytes) UHD Blu-ray Disc. The theatrical cut of the movie has received a 4K scan and color grading, as mentioned below.

Play Misty for Me gets Special Edition Blu-ray

The 1971 film “Play Misty for Me“ directed by Clint Eastwood is getting a Special Edition Blu-ray Disc release on November 10th via KL Studio Classics. The film starred Clint Eastwood, Jessica Walter, Donna Mills, John Larch, Jack Ging, Irene Hervey, James McEachin, Clarice Taylor, and Don Siegel. This motion picture has received a brand new 2K master. Tech specs for the release have not yet been fully detailed, however, it is known that it will be on a BD-50 (50 gigabytes) Blu-ray Disc. Stay tuned for an update regarding the aspect ratio and details about what audio configuration and format(s) it is presented in.
