The Return of the Pink Panther gets a 4K in March

The 1975 sequel “The Return of the Pink Panther“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on March 3rd via KL Studio Classics [Kino Lorber]. Blake Edwards directed and co-wrote the film, which starred Peter Sellers. It co-starred Christopher Plummer, Catherine Schell, Herbert Lom, Burt Kwouk, Graham Stark, and Peter Arne.

The movie has received a 4K scan of the original 35mm camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) with lossless sound, on a BD-100 disc. The audio should be the original Mono, most likely in a 2-channel container. The 2-disc release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray is not yet available for preorder at Amazon, but stay tuned for an update. In the meantime, though, you can preorder directly via Kino Lorber’s website. The bonus materials included with the release are listed below, sorted by disc.

Space: 1999 – The Complete Series on Blu-ray in July

Shout! Factory has just officially announced plans to bring the 1970s Sci-Fi TV show “Space: 1999 – The Complete Series“ to Blu-ray Disc on July 16th. The show ran from 1975 through 1977 starring Martin Landau and Barbara Bain. Tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed but it is known this will be a limited edition box set. The box set ordered directly from Shout! Factory’s store will include a collectible snowglobe (detailed further below and pictured below). NOTE: The snowglobe will NOT be included with the version available at retailers.

Bonus materials will get their very own disc and are currently in the process of being finished, so they haven’t been announced yet. All 48 episodes of the show will be included in high definition (HD).

UPDATE: The Blu-ray set is now available for pre-order over at Amazon and Best Buy. Again, no snowglobe will be included with that version. It’ll look like this.
