The 1994 film “The Mask” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in Limited Edition sets on November 11th via Arrow Video. Chuck Russell directed the movie. It starred Jim Carrey, Cameron Diaz, Peter Riegert, Peter Greene, Amy Yasbeck, and Richard Jeni.

The movie has received a 4K restoration from the original camera negative, which was approved by director Chuck Russell. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10, along with Dolby Atmos and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Stereo sound mixes. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD MA 5.1 and 2.0 sound mixes.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray limited edition sets are now available for preorder at Amazon. You can also preorder the 4K and Blu-ray sets directly from Arrow Video’s website.

Vanilla Sky on Paramount Presents Blu-ray in November

The 2001 film Vanilla Sky is officially coming to the Paramount Presents Blu-ray Disc line, as spine #27, on November 16th via Paramount Home Entertainment. The movie, written and directed by Cameron Crowe, starred Tom Cruise, Penélope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Kurt Russell, Jason Lee, Tilda Swinton, and Michael Shannon.

This has been newly remastered from a new 4K film transfer, done under the supervision of filmmaker Cameron Crowe. The tech specs for the release have yet to be fully detailed but you can for sure expect a 1080p HD video presentation in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio and a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix — presumably in the DTS-HD Master Audio format, as with the previous release on the format. Stay tuned though for a possible update on the tech specs. The release will come with a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the Paramount Presents Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. 2001 film Shrek gets a 20th Anniversary 4K release in May

The 2001 CG animated DreamWorks film “Shrek” will officially be getting a 20th Anniversary Edition 4K UHD Blu-ray release on May 11th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, which was directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, featured a voice cast of Mike MyersEddie MurphyCameron Diaz, and John Lithgow. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS:X sound on a BD-100 disc. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will come with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film. You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and even a Blu-ray Disc of this 20th Anniversary Edition of the film now available for preorder over at Amazon.

UPDATE: There will also be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook of the film available an exclusive over at retailer Best Buy. It can now be found available for preorder and is pictured below.

Charlie’s Angels (2000) comes to 4K October

The 2000 film adaptation of Charlie’s Angels is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 22nd via Sony. The film, based on the TV series of the same title and directed by McG, starred Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Lui, Bill Murray, Sam Rockwell, Tim Curry, Kelly Lynch, John ForsytheCrispin Glover, LL Cool J, Tom Green, and Luke Wilson. Tech specs for the 4K (although vague in the press release) would seem to include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio from a new scan with the HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range along with Dolby Atmos sound and even the original DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 mix.

UPDATE: You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for pre-order over at Amazon. The 4K release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that you will also get a Blu-ray Disc and a digital copy of the film included. Bonus materials set to be included on this 4K release and housed on the original Blu-ray are listed below.
