Brian De Palma film Hi, Mom! is coming to 4K in May

Brian De Palma co-wrote and directed the movie, which starred Robert De Niro. It co-starred Charles Durning, Allen Garfield, Jennifer Salt, Paul Bartel, and Gerrit Graham.

The movie has received a 4K restoration from the original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10-compatible) high dynamic range and uncompressed Linear PCM Mono sound. The 2-disc set will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. This set will be a limited edition of just 5000 copies total.

The 1998 film Snake Eyes is coming to 4K in December

The 1998 film “Snake Eyes” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Special Edition Blu-ray Disc on December 17th via KL Studio Classics. The movie has received a new master from a 16-bit 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The 4K tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround, and 2.0 stereo lossless sound, on a BD-100 disc. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included. The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Special Edition Blu-ray are now available for preorder at Amazon and directly via Kino Lorber’s website. 1984 film Body Double gets 4K SteelBook in September

The 1984 film “Body Double” is officially getting a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on September 24th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Brian De Palma, starred Craig Wasson, Gregg Henry, and Melanie Griffith. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range along with Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 surround sound. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook available for preorder at Amazon and retailer Walmart. It’s currently much cheaper at Walmart versus Amazon. The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included (sourced from the 4K master) along with a digital copy. Brian De Palma film Blow Out on 4K in September

The 1981 film Blow Out is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 6th via The Criterion Collection.  The film, directed and co-written by Brian De Palma, starred John Travolta, Tracy Allen, Dennis Franz, and John Lithgow.

This comes from a new 4K restoration.  The tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo sound.  The release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with the Blu-ray counterpart included.  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon and directly via Criterion.  The bonus materials set to be included with the release are listed below.

1987 film The Untouchables comes to 4K in May

The 1987 film adaptation of “The Untouchables” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 31st via Paramount Home Entertainment.  The film, directed by Brian De Palma, starred Kevin Costner, Sean Connery, Robert De Niro, Charles Martin Smith, and Andy Garcia.

UPDATE:  The release has now been officially announced.  Tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.

The release will not include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, only a 4K UHD Blu-ray and a digital code (copy) of the film.  There will also be a 4K UHD Blu-ray limited edition SteelBook release (pictured a bit below), coming on May 31st as well.  You can find the standard 4K UHD Blu-ray and the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook both available for preorder now over at Amazon.

1993 film Carlito’s Way with Al Pacino on 4K in October

According to multiple retailers, the 1993 film “Carlito’s Way” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 12th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Brian De Palma, starred Al Pacino, Sean Penn, Penelope Ann Miller, John Leguizamo, Ingrid Rogers, Luis Guzmán, and Viggo Mortensen.

There will be a standard 4K UHD Blu-ray release (pictured above) available everywhere and an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook over at the retailer Best Buy (pictured below).

You can now find the standard 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon and the 4K SteelBook available for preorder over at retailer Best Buy. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and HDR10+ forms of high dynamic range and DTS:X immersive lossless sound, on a BD-100 disc. The release will come in the form of a 2-disc “combo pack” meaning that the Blu-ray Disc counterpart will be included, along with a digital code (copy) of the film. The 1983 Brian De Palma directed film Scarface starring Al Pacino is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a “Gold Edition” on October 15th via Universal. The film’s screenplay was written by Oliver Stone and it co-starred Michelle PfeifferSteven Bauer, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and Robert Loggia. Tech specs for the 4K include 2160p video in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio in HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and DTS:X sound. The release will come in the form of “combo pack” with a Blu-ray and digital copy (code) of the film included. UPDATE: Amazon has now added back a pre-order listing for the 4K UHD Blu-ray.
