The 2019 film Ma starring Octavia Spencer is coming to Blu-ray Disc on September 3rd via Universal, according to multiple retailers. The film, directed by Tate Taylor and produced by Jason Blum, co-stars Diana SilversJuliette Lewis, McKaley Miller, Corey Fogelmanis, Gianni PaoloDante Brown, and Luke Evans. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The release will come in the form of “combo pack” with a DVD and a digital copy (digital code) of the film included. Jordan Peele film Us comes to 4K and Blu-ray in June

The 2019 Jordan Peele film “Us” is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on June 18th via Universal. The film, “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes, stars Lupita Nyong’oWinston Duke, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex, Tim Heidecker, and Elisabeth Moss.

The tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio in both HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range with Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound. The releases will both come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting a Blu-ray Disc and the Blu-ray getting a DVD included in addition to a digital copy of the film. Both the 4K UHD Blu-ray and the Blu-ray are now available for pre-order over at Amazon and Best Buy. Retailer Best Buy will be getting an Exclusive 4K Steelbook release (pictured below) that you can pre-order now.

RUMOR: “Happy Death Day 2U” starring Jessica Rothe comes to Blu-ray in May

The 2019 sequel Happy Death Day 2U is rumored to be coming to Blu-ray Disc on May 14th via Universal, according to early alerts to retailers. I am only saying this is a rumor as the studio has not yet officially announced this title. The film, produced by Blumhouse & directed by Christopher Landon, includes a cast of  Jessica RotheIsrael BroussardPhi Vu, Suraj Sharma, Sarah Yarkin, Rachel Matthews, and Ruby Modine. It is known that it will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD and digital copy of the film included. The Blu-ray is already available to pre-order over at Amazon and it even has a placeholder over at Best Buy (with the release date listed).

UPDATE: This release has been confirmed to be coming out on the date I originally specified. Production company Blumhouse has now posted a promotional ad on Twitter for the home video release which you can find HERE. M. Night Shyamalan film “Glass” arrives on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in April

The 2019 M. Night Shyamalan written & directed film “Glass” is coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on April 16th via Universal, according to an early alert to retailers. The film just released last week theatrically is a sequel to the films “Unbreakable” (2000) and “Split” (2016). Glass features a cast of James McAvoyBruce WillisSamuel L. Jackson, and Sarah Paulson.

2018 film “Halloween” officially comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in January

The 2018 film “Halloween” directed by David Gordon Green and starring Jamie Lee Curtis is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 15th, 2019 via Universal. The film is a sequel to John Carpenter‘s original 1978 classic (of the same title). Carpenter contributed music to this and served as an executive producer, along with Jamie Lee Curtis. Danny McBride co-wrote the screenplay and also served as an executive producer. It’s also worth noting that this film was a joint venture with Jason Blum (producer) and his production house Blumhouse. The cast includes Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Virginia Gardner, and Nick Castle. This (at time of writing) is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes by the critics, and seems to have been liked by moviegoers as well.

“The First Purge” on 4K UHD Blu-ray Steelbook comes to Best Buy in October

The 2018 film The First Purge is not only coming to 4K and Blu-ray (as reported) but it’s also going to be getting an Exclusive Steelbook  4K UHD Blu-ray release over at Best Buy. The Steelbook version, and other version of the film will be available on October 2nd, via Universal. The First Purge 4K Steelbook is available for PRE-ORDER now over at Best Buy.

It’s also worth noting (as mentioned in my previous post) that the other three films in this franchise will also be getting Exclusive Steelbooks of their 4K UHD Blu-ray releases at Best Buy on the same date (10/2). Those Steelbooks for those films can be found linked to below by title for their pre-order listings (slightly more affordable, priced at under $20 each).
