There will be a second volume of “The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection“ coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 10th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment, according to retailers. The five films included in this set, also coming as individual 4K releases, are listed below:
The tech specs for the release of each of the five films include 2160p video presentations in (side matted) 1.33:1 and 1.85:1 aspect ratios with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio lossless sound in Mono sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with each film getting its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, making it a 10-disc set, and also include a digital code (copy) for each film. The 1988 Frank Oz directed comedy “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels“ starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine is getting a “Collector’s Edition”Blu-ray Disc release on January 22nd, 2019 via Shout Select (Shout! Factory). Tech specs for the release include 1080p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. It is known that this will come with a video transfer mastered from a new 2K scan of the original film elements. The title is available to pre-order now over at Amazon and directly via Shout!
