The 1979 adaptation of Salem’s Lot on 4K in March

This release includes new 4K restorations of both the original two-part miniseries and the shorter theatrical cut distributed internationally. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.33:1 for the 2-part TV miniseries, a 1.85:1 aspect ratio for the theatrical cut, and lossless Mono sound for both versions. The release will come as a 2-disc set, with each version getting its own disc.

The movie features a new 4K restoration from the original 35mm negative. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.66:1 aspect ratio, in SDR (standard dynamic range), with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio Mono and 5.1 surround sound configurations. The Blu-ray version’s tech specs include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.66:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD MA Mono and 5.1 surround sound. The release will be a 3-disc set for each format. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible), accompanied by Dolby Atmos and lossless 2.0 stereo sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos and lossless 2.0 stereo sound.

The 1981 film Outland comes to 4K in November

The 1981 science fiction film “Outland” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a Limited Edition on November 4th via Arrow Video. Peter Hyams wrote and directed the movie. It starred Sean Connery, Peter Boyle, Frances Sternhagen, James Sikking, Kika Markham, and Clarke Peters.

This has received restoration from the original 35mm camera negative. The 4K UHD Blu-ray tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10, along with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo sound.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition is now available for preorder at Amazon. Also, you can preorder it directly via Arrow Video’s website or via the MVD Shop. The limited edition set will include some physical extras (pictured and listed below).
