The 1991 live-action film adaptation of “The Addams Family“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 9th via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, starred Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, Christina Ricci, Jimmy Workman, Christopher Lloyd, Dan Hedaya, Elizabeth Wilson, Judith Malina, Carel Struycken, and John Franklin. The film is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and will come with a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix — although yet to be specified. Stay tuned for a possible update on the sound details. The movie has been “newly remastered and restored under the supervision of director Barry Sonnenfeld” and will include both the original Theatrical Cut and an Extended Cut (a “never-before-seen “More Mamushka!” version, which expands the memorable dance number.”)

The 2019 sequel “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum”starring Keanu Reeves is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on September 10th via Lionsgate. The film, directed by Chad Stahelski, co-stars Halle Berry, Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Mark Dacascos, and Anjelica Huston. The tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio in HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range with Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p video in the 2.39:1 aspect and Dolby Atmos sound. Both releases will come in the form of “combo pack” with the 4K getting the Blu-ray, the Blu-ray getting a DVD, and each getting a digital copy (code) of the film.

The 1989 TV mini-series “Lonesome Dove“ is getting a Special EditionBlu-ray DiscSteelbook release on July 9th via Mill Creek Entertainment. The mini-series featured an extraordinary cast of Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Danny Glover, Diane Lane, Robert Urich, Frederic Forrest, D.B. Sweeney, Ricky Schroder, Anjelica Huston, Chris Cooper, Barry Corbin, Barry Tubb, and Steve Buscemi. The tech specs for the new Blu-ray will be identical to the 2015 release, including 1080p video in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. This new Special EditionBlu-ray Steelbook is not yet available to pre-order but there is a placeholder page over at Amazon. A digital copy of the mini-series will be included with the Blu-ray.
