The 1996 film Sleepers is coming to 4K in April

The 1996 film “Sleepers” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on April 21st via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment.
Barry Levinson directed the movie and wrote the screenplay, based on the book by Lorenzo Carcaterra. It starred Kevin Bacon, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Jason Patric, and Brad Pitt. Its supporting cast included Minnie Driver, Bruno Kirby, Vittorio Gassman, Ron Eldard, Terry Kinney, Jonathan Tucker, and the late Brad Renfro.
The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10-compatible) high dynamic range, along with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound in either the original theatrical or a director-approved remix. The release will include a digital code (copy) of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms on 4K and Blu-ray

The HBO original series “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Complete First Season” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on June 16th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment.
The show, created by George R.R. Martin & Ira Parker, is a spin-off, or rather origin story, set before the events of the “Game of Thrones” series. It stars Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell. The supporting cast includes Daniel Ings, Danny Webb, Shaun Thomas, Finn Bennett, Daniel Monks, Sam Spruell, Bertie Carvel, and Cara Harris.
The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray have yet to be detailed, but I have put in a request to Warner for further details. Stay tuned for an update on that. The show will be presented in a 2.00:1 aspect ratio on both formats.

The 2011 film “Moneyball” will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a 4K UHD Blu-ray debut on April 28th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
Bennett Miller directed the film from a screenplay co-written by Aaron Sorkin. The movie was nominated for a total of six Academy Awards (Oscars), including “Best Picture.” It starred Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. The supporting cast included Robin Wright, Chris Pratt, and Brent Jennings.
The movie has received a 4K presentation approved by the director, Bennet Miller. The tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with SDR (standard dynamic range) and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound.
NOTE: No form of HDR (high dynamic range) will be included with this release. This was most likely the director’s choice.

The 2004 sequel “Meet the Fockers“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 14th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment.
Jay Roach directed the movie. It starred Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Barbra Streisand, Blythe Danner, and Owen Wilson. This was the first sequel to the film “Meet the Parents” (2000), which is already available on 4K UHD Blu-ray.
The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-66 disc. The 2-disc release will be a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included, as well as a digital code (copy) of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.
