The 1986 film Night of the Creeps gets a 4K in March

The 1986 horror film Night of the Creeps will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray via Scream Factory on March 25th. It was written and directed by Fred Dekker and starred Jason Lively, Steve Marshall, Jill Whitlow, Wally Taylor, and Tom Atkins.

The movie has received a 4K restoration from the original camera negative approved by director Fred Dekker. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Stereo lossless sound. The release will come as a 3-disc “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a Blu-ray Disc with bonus materials.

The 1984 film Amadeus is coming to 4K in February

According to retailers, the 1984 film Amadeus will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on February 25th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. This will only include the theatrical cut of the film. Milos Forman directed the movie, which starred F. Murray Abraham, Tom Hulce, Elizabeth Berridge, Simon Callow, and Roy Dotrice. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” based on critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

“The theatrical release version was digitally restored in 4K in 2024 by the Academy Film Archive and The Saul Zaentz Co. Restoration funding provided by Teatro Della Pace Films and The Film Foundation as well as The George Lucas Family Foundation.”

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.0 lossless surround sound. Short Night of Glass Dolls comes to 4K in April

The 1971 film “Short Night of Glass Dolls” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 29th via Celluloid Dreams. The Italian language film, originally titled “La corta notte delle bambole di vetro,” was directed & co-written by Aldo Lado. Its cast included Jean Sorel, Barbara Bac, Ingrid Thulin, and Mario Adorf.

Regarding the film’s 4K restoration, Celluloid Dreams made the following statement:

“Mastered from a new 4K transfer of the original camera negative, “Short Night of Glass Dolls” has been color-graded and painstakingly restored in-house at Celluloid Dreams to ensure the highest fidelity of the film’s remarkable cinematography.”

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio. It includes HDR10 form of high dynamic range. The audio is DTS-HD Master Audio Mono available in both Italian and English. The release will also include newly translated English subtitles for the Italian audio presentation.

This 4-disc set will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included as well as two additional Blu-ray bonus discs. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon. The Cell on 4K and Blu-ray Limited Edition in January

The 2000 film “The Cell” will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc in limited edition sets on January 21st via Arrow Video. Directed by Tarsem Singh, the film starred Jennifer Lopez, Colton James, Dylan Baker, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Gerry Becker, Musetta Vander, Patrick Bauchau, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Vince Vaughn.

The movie has received new 4K restorations of the Theatrical Cut (107 minutes) and the Director’s Cut (109 minutes) by Arrow Films, approved by the director Tarsem Singh. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. Both versions of the film (theatrical cut and director’s cut) will be included on the 4K disc. The 4K release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included. The 1950 film “Winchester ’73” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 28th via The Criterion Collection. The film, directed by Anthony Mann, starred James Stewart, Shelley Winters, Dan Duryea, Rock Hudson, Stephen McNally, Millard Mitchell, Charles Drake, John McIntire, and Will Geer.

The movie has received a new 4K digital restoration, “undertaken by Universal Pictures in collaboration with The Film Foundation.” The tech specs for the 4K release include a Black & White 2160p video presentation in the 1.35:1 aspect ratio with SDR (standard dynamic range) and uncompressed Mono sound. NOTE: This 4K release will NOT include HDR (high dynamic range). Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD Black & White video presentation in the 1.35:1 aspect ratio and uncompressed Mono sound. The 4K release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included.
