The 1979 adaptation of Salem’s Lot on 4K in March

This release includes new 4K restorations of both the original two-part miniseries and the shorter theatrical cut distributed internationally. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.33:1 for the 2-part TV miniseries, a 1.85:1 aspect ratio for the theatrical cut, and lossless Mono sound for both versions. The release will come as a 2-disc set, with each version getting its own disc.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition is now available for preorder at Amazon, Arrow Video, and the MVD Shop. The bonus materials physically included are shown, and the entire set of supplemental materials is listed further below, sorted by disc.

The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.37:1 (or perhaps 1.33:1) aspect ratio with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 stereo sound, on a BD-50 disc. The Terror Time Collector’s Edition Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon.

Emergency! The Complete Series gets Blu-ray set

The classic TV series Emergency! The Complete Series is coming to Blu-ray Disc on August 26th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The show starred Kevin Tighe, Randolph Mantooth, Julie London, Joanna Kern, and Linda Gray.

The tech specs for this 28-disc Blu-ray set include 1080p HD video in a 1.33:1 aspect ratio and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono sound.

Little House on the Prairie on Blu-ray in September

The classic 1974 TV series Little House on the Prairie: The Complete Series is coming to Blu-ray Disc on September 9th via Lionsgate. The show starred Michael Landon, Melissa Gilbert, Karen Grassle, Melissa Sue Anderson, and Sidney Greenbush.

NOTE: All nine seasons of the show have been previously released individually on the Blu-ray format. This will, however, mark the first time the entire series has been packaged together as one release.

The tech specs for the release span a 45-disc set and include 1080p HD video in a 1.33:1 aspect ratio, along with DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono sound. The Blu-ray Disc set is not yet available for preorder at Amazon, but there is a non-functional placeholder page. The Blu-ray is now available for preorder at GRUV and MovieZyng.

Big Helium Dog comes to Blu-ray in September

The 1999 film Big Helium Dog comes to Blu-ray Disc on September 16th via SModCastle Cinema. This release will be distributed by MVD Entertainment Group. Brian Lynch wrote and directed the movie. Kevin Smith executive-produced the film. It starred Michael Ian Black, Erik Stolhanske, Kevin Heffernan, Matt Kawczynski, Lorene Scafaria, Brian Quinn, Ming Chen, and Kevin Smith. This features members of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe.

This comes from a new transfer and restoration of the 16mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.33:1 aspect ratio and uncompressed PCM 2.0 Stereo sound.

Murder, She Wrote arrives on Blu-ray in June

TV’s “Murder, She Wrote: The Complete Series” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on June 17th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The show ran a total of 12 seasons and starred Angela Lansbury as “Jessica Fletcher.”

This 62-disc set includes all 264 episodes along with an additional 4 TV movies. Bonus materials are also said to be included.

Two Soderbergh films are coming to 4K in April

Two films directed by Steven Soderbergh are coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 15th (individually). The films are The Good German (2006) and The Informant! (2008). Both will be released via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. It’s certainly worth noting that “The Informant!” is “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes, based on critics. Each film’s cast is listed below.

“The Informant!” cast: Matt Damon, Melanie Lynskey, Joel McHale, Scott Bakula, Tony Hale

The tech specs for the 4K releases are as follows. “The Good German” will be presented in a 1.33:1 aspect ratio in 2160p with Dolby Vision or HDR10 and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. “The Informant!” will be presented in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround. The 4K release of “The Good German” will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. It’s worth noting that a Blu-ray version of the film will also be available on the same date (4/15).
