John Woo film Silent Night on 4K and Blu-ray in January

The 2023 film “Silent Night” directed by John Woo is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray via an exclusive SteelBook and to Blu-ray on January 30th via Lionsgate Home Entertainment. The film stars Joel Kinnaman, Kid Cudi, Harold Torres, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Yoko Hamamura. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.00:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD presentation in the 2.00:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. The 1972 Italian film “The Case of the Bloody Iris” directed by Giuliano Carnimeo is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 9th via Celluloid Dreams. The film, originally titled “Perchè Quelle Strane Gocce Di Sangue Sul Corpo Di Jennifer?” in Italy, starred George Hilton, Edwige Fenech, Paola Quattrini, Annabella Incontrera, and Carla Brait. This will mark the first release for the new startup boutique release label Celluloid Dreams.
UPDATED: The movie has received a new 2023 4K scan of the original camera negative. Tech specs for the release include a 4K presentation of the 2.35:1 with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio Italian with English subtitles. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. You can already find the 4K UHD Blu-ray now available for preorder over at Amazon and Diabolik DVD. The 2006 Japanese animated [anime] film “Paprika” will be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a limited edition SteelBook on February 20th, via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, according to retailers. The film, directed by Satoshi Kon, received countless awards & nominations as well as positive reviews from critics. This film is “Certified Fresh” still over at Rotten Tomatoes.
Tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos Japanese sound, with English subtitles. This release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its Blu-ray counterpart as well as a digital code (copy) of the film. The “Beverly Hills Cop” franchise will be celebrating its 40th anniversary this year with a “Beverly Hills Cop 3 Movie Collection” on 4K UHD Blu-ray as well as an individual 4K release of “Beverly Hills Cop III” (1994) both on February 20th via Paramount Home Entertainment. The 1994 sequel, “Beverly Hills Cop III” was directed by John Landis, and starred Eddie Murphy, Jon Tenney, Joey Travolta, Judge Reinhold, Hector Elizondo, and Gilbert R. Hill. The ‘3 Movie Collection’ will also include “Beverly Hills Cop” (1984) and “Beverly Hills Cop II” (1987) as well as the third film.

Beverly Hills Cop III will be presented in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The 1984 film “Footloose” (celebrating its 40th anniversary) will be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on February 13th, 2024 via Paramount Home Entertainment. There will be a standard 4K release (pictured above) as well as a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook with a collectible poster (pictured below) available. Neither version is yet available for preorder at any retailers but stay tuned for an update. The film was directed by Herbert Ross and starred Kevin Bacon, Lori Singer, John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest, Chris Penn, and Sarah Jessica Parker.
