Rick and Morty Season 7 is coming to Blu-ray in March

The popular animated TV series “Rick and Morty: The Complete Seventh Season” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 12th via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.  The show, which airs on [adult swim], was co-created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland.  The voice cast this season features Ian Cardoni as “Rick” and Harry Belden as “Morty.”  The returning voice cast for the season includes Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer, and Sarah Chalke.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.  The release will presumably include a digital copy of the season, although it has yet to be verified. The Marvels are coming to both 4K and Blu-ray in February

The 2023 Marvel Studios film “The Marvels” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 13th via Disney.  The film, the latest in the “Marvel Cinematic Universe” was directed by Nia DaCosta, and it stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Zawe Ashton, Gary Lewis, Seo-Jun Park, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, and  Samuel L. Jackson.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound on a BD-66 disc.  Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 lossless surround on a BD-50 disc.  The 4K will come in the form of a “combo pack” getting its Blu-ray counterpart.  Both releases will each be including a digital code (copy) of the film.

Steven Soderbergh film Contagion on 4K in February

The 2011 film “Contagion” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on February 27th via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, distributed here by Allied Vaughn.  The film, directed by Steven Soderbergh, starred Marion Cotillard, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude LawGwyneth PaltrowKate Winslet, and Bryan Cranston.

The tech specs for the release have yet to be fully detailed, but you can expect a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and HDR10 form of high dynamic range and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround.  There’s no sign of Dolby Vision or Dolby Atmos being included with this release.  No Blu-ray counterpart will be part of the release, but you will get a digital code (copy) of the film.  Bonus materials should be identical to the previous Blu-ray and likely are housed on the 4K disc.  Stay tuned for an update on the specifics of the release.  NOTE: This release is said to be MOD (manufactured on demand), however, based on previously released titles, this will not be a burnt disc.

The 2023 sequel “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 13th via Lionsgate Home Entertainment.  The film, directed by Francis Lawrence, stars Tom Blyth, Rachel Zegler, Hunter Schafer, Jason Schwartzman, Peter Dinklage, Josh Andrés Rivera, and Viola Davis.  The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound.  Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting its Blu-ray counterpart and the Blu-ray getting its DVD counterpart included and each having a digital copy (code).  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray both available for preorder over at Amazon and Walmart (with the links at the top).

Fans can rejoice as there will be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook and also a 4K UHD Blu-ray Collector’s Edition available as exclusives at retailer Walmart (pictured below) which you can now find available for preorder.  NOTE:  Walmart has been showing the Collector’s Edition as sold out, but keep checking back, and perhaps closer to the release date they will have a preorder available again.
