The 2022 Disney+ original “Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi: The Complete Series” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 30th via Disney. The series, directed by Deborah Chow, starred Ewan McGregor, Moses Ingram, Vivien Lyra Blair, Hayden Christensen, Sung Kang, Rupert Friend, Kumail Nanjiani, and Jimmy Smits, with the voice of James Earl Jones.

The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, on two BD-100 discs. The release will physically include 3 concept art cards (pictured above). There’s no digital copy or Blu-ray included with this release. Killer Klowns from Outer Space arrives on 4K in May

The 1988 cult classic film “Killer Klowns from Outer Space” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 14th via Scream Factory (Shout! Studios). The movie, celebrating its 35th anniversary, was directed by Stephen Chiodo, and starred Grant Cramer, Suzanne Snyder, John Allen Nelson, John Vernon, Michael S. Siegel, Peter Licassi, and Royal Dano.

This release has received a new 4K scan of the original camera negative. The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and lossless 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo audio configurations. The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

Guillermo del Toro film Crimson Peak on 4K in May

The 2015 film “Crimson Peak” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a limited edition set on May 21st via Arrow Video. The film, directed & co-written by Guillermo del Toro, starred Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Charlie Hunnam, Jim Beaver, Burn Gorman, Leslie Hope, and Doug Jones.

The release will include some physical extras (pictured below): A double-sided, fold-out poster, four double-sided postcards, limited edition packaging designed by Crimson Peak concept artist Guy Davis, and a Limited edition 80-page, hard-bound book featuring writing by David Jenkins and Simon Abrams, an archival interview with Guillermo del Toro, and original conceptual design illustrations by artists Guy Davis and Oscar Chichoni.

This has received a brand-new 2024 4K Restoration from the 35mm negative. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 1.0 Mono sound. Tech specs for the new Special Edition Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect and DTS-HD Master Audio 1.0 Mono sound. The 2006 film “The Departed” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and in a limited edition SteelBook on April 23rd via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Martin Scorsese, starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen, Ray Winstone, and Vera Farmiga.

“The 4K remaster of The Departed was completed at Warner Bros. Discovery’s Motion Picture Imaging (MPI) with the participation of the film’s Academy Award-winning editor Thelma Schoonmaker (Raging Bull, The Aviator).”

Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio in HDR10 form of high dynamic range with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. This has received a brand new master (of the Theatrical Cut), taken from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. Fret not, the Director’s Cut will be included in HD on the second disc and has been sourced from the same 4K scan and a 4K scan of the interpositive of the Director’s Cut (specifically). Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and lossless audio, on a BD-100 disc. And, tech specs for the Blu-ray (Special Edition) include a 1080p HD video presentation (from that same new master) in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with lossless audio, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K release will come as a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc. The Blu-ray release will include both cuts of the film on one disc.
