Read moreThree classic films starring Clint Eastwood are coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 29th, via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The films include: “Dirty Harry” (1971), “Pale Rider” (1985), and “The Outlaw Josey Wales” (1976). 4K UHD Blu-ray and a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release will be available for each film (pictured above).
“Dirty Harry” was directed by Don Siegel. Both “Pale Rider” and “The Outlaw Josey Wales” were directed by Clint Eastwood. Dirty Harry co-starred Harry Guardino, Reni Santoni, and John Vernon. Pale Rider co-starred Michael Moriarty, Carrie Snodgress, and Chris Penn. The Outlaw Josey Wales” co-starred Sondra Locke, Bill McKinney, and John Vernon.
The tech specs on 4K are as follows. All films will include a 2160p video presentation with HDR10 form of high dynamic range. “Dirty Harry” will be presented in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio. “Pale Rider” and “The Outlaw Josey Wales” will be presented in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio. All three will include a Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono lossless sound mix. A digital copy of each film will be included with the 4K release, compatible with Movies Anywhere.

The 1978 film “Foul Play” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 22nd via KL Studio Classics. Also, a Special Edition Blu-ray will be released on the same date. The film was written & directed by Colin Higgins. It starred Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase. Other cast members included Burgess Meredith, Dudley Moore, and Marilyn Sokol. William Frankfather, Rachel Roberts, Billy Barty, and the late Brian Dennehy were also part of the cast.
The movie has received a new master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) and lossless audio, on a BD-100 disc. Tech specs for the Special Edition Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation and lossless audio, on a BD-50 disc. The exact details about the audio configuration(s) and format(s) have yet to be announced, but stay tuned for an update.

The 1965 film “The Sound of Music” will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray later this year. This release will come from 20th Century Studios (Disney). It starred Andy Garcia, Christopher Walken, Christopher Lloyd, Gabrielle Anwar, Treat Williams, Steve Buscemi, Bill Nunn, and William Forsythe.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment will release the 2025 film “Dog Man” on Blu-ray Disc on April 1st. Peter Hastings directed and wrote the film, which is based on the book by Dav Pilkey. The film features the voices of Pete Davidson, Isla Fisher, and Lil Rel Howery. It also includes Ricky Gervais, Poppy Liu, Billy Boyd, and Stephen Root.
The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby TrueHD 7.1 lossless surround sound, on a BD-50 disc.
