The 1990 film “Air America” gets a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on June 10th via Lionsgate as an Amazon exclusive. Roger Spottiswoode directed the movie. It starred Mel Gibson, Robert Downey, Jr., Nancy Travis, Ken Jenkins, David Marshall Grant, Lane Smith, and Art LaFleur.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround sound. The 2-disc set will be a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart. A digital copy will also be included with this release.

The 1975 film Barry Lyndon comes to 4K in July

The 1975 film “Barry Lyndon” will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 8th via The Criterion Collection. Stanley Kubrick directed the film. The movie starred Ryan O’Neal, Marisa Berenson, Patrick Magee, Hardy Krüger, and Steven Berkoff. It’s most certainly worth noting that this film is still (to this day) “Certified Fresh” by critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie has received a 4K restoration. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.66:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10. It will also include an uncompressed LPCM Mono mix and a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound mix.. The 3-disc set will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and an additional Blu-ray with extras.

The 1954 film Sabrina is coming to 4K in June

The 1954 film “Sabrina” will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 17th via KL Studio Classics. Billy Wilder directed and co-wrote the screenplay. The movie starred Humphrey BogartAudrey HepburnWilliam Holden, and Martha Hyer. It’s worth noting that this film won an Academy Award for best “costume design, black and white” by Edith Head. It’s also very noteworthy that this film (still to this day) is “Certified Fresh” by critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

Paramount Pictures gave this a brand new master, from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation, presumably in the original 1.75:1 aspect ratio, with Dolby Vision or HDR10. It will most likely include a lossless audio presentation from its original Mono source. Confirmation of aspect ratio, audio configuration, and format for this release has yet to be made. Stay tuned for an update. Lastly, it is known that it will be on a BD-100 disc.

This 2-disc release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. The Blu-ray will feature this new 4K master as its source. This release features a new master (by Paramount) from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo sound, on a BD-100 disc. The release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. That Blu-ray will feature the new master of the movie.

The 1998 film “Small Soldiers” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on July 22nd via Paramount Home Media Distribution. Joe Dante directed this movie, which Adam Rifkin co-wrote. It starred Kirsten Dunst, David Cross, Jay Mohr, Denis Leary, Kevin Dunn, Dick Miller, and Phil Hartman.

The tech specs for the 4K release have yet to be detailed. But, you should expect at least a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio in at least HDR10 and with a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix. Stay tuned for an update on the exact tech specs as more information becomes available. This 4K SteelBook 2-disc release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.
