The Accountant 2 on 4K and Blu-ray in August

The 2025 sequel “The Accountant 2” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on August 12th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. This release comes from Amazon MGM Studios. Gavin O’Connor directed the movie. It stars Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, and J.K. Simmons. It’s certainly worth noting that the movie is “Certified Fresh” (by critics) and “Verified Hot” (by audiences) at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range. Audio on the 4K and Blu-ray will be presented in Dolby Atmos. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio. Both releases will include a digital copy of the film.

The 2025 live-action film adaptation of “How to Train Your Dragon” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on August 12th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. It will also arrive on 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured in the center above). Dean DeBlois directed the movie. It stars Mason Thames, Nico Parker, Gabriel Howell, Julian Dennison, Bronwyn James, Harry Trevaldwyn, Peter Serafinowicz, with Nick Frost and Gerard Butler.

It’s worth noting that this movie is “Certified Fresh” (based on critics) and “Verified Hot” (based on audiences) at Rotten Tomatoes. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in two different aspect ratios, including 2.39:1 and 1. 90:1 shifting, with HDR10, on a BD-100 disc. Airplane II The Sequel on 4K in September

The 1982 film “Airplane II: The Sequel” is being released on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Special Edition Blu-ray on September 23rd via KL Studio Classics.

Ken Finkleman directed and co-wrote the film. It starred Robert Hays, Julie Hagerty, Lloyd Bridges, William Shatner, Peter Graves, Raymond Burr, and Chuck Connors. The cast also included Rip Torn, John Dehner, Chad Everett, Kent McCord, John Vernon, and Sonny Bono.

The movie has received a new master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The technical specifications for the 4K include a 2160p UHD visual presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range, on a BD-100 disc. Audio on both the 4K and Blu-ray will be presented in lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Stereo. The Blu-ray will include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included.

The TV show “The Boys: Season 4“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc on August 19th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. This show airs on Amazon Prime. It stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The 2025 sequel “Karate Kid: Legends” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray, 4K SteelBook, and Blu-ray on August 26th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Jonathan Entwistle directed the movie. It stars Jackie Chan, Ralph Macchio, Ben Wang, Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Wyatt Oleff. It’s worth noting this film is “Verified Hot” based on audience ratings at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, accompanied by Dolby Vision or HDR10, and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The 2013 movie “Mama“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a “Collector’s Edition” on September 30th via Scream Factory. Andy Muschietti directed and co-wrote the movie.
