Steve McQueen film “Widows” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in February

The 2018 Steve McQueen directed film “Widows” is slated for release on both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc formats February 5th, 2018 via Fox The film’s cast includes Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, Cynthia Erivo, Colin Farrell, Jon Bernthal, Robert Duvall, and Liam Neeson. This film has received mostly positive reviews from critics. In fact, Widows is currently “Certified Fresh” (at time of writing) over at Rotten Tomatoes.

Tech specs for the 4K include 2160p video presented in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The technical specifications for the Blu-ray release include 1080p video in the 2.39:1 aspect and Dolby Atmos sound. Each version will come in the form of a “comb pack” with the 4K release getting a Blu-ray, and the Blu-ray getting a DVD, with both include a Digital Copy of the film. Ron Howard film “Willow” gets 30th Anniversary Blu-ray release in January

The 1988 Ron Howard directed film “Willow“ will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary with a new Blu-ray release on January 29th, 2019 via Disney (Lucasfilms, Ltd.), according to retailers. The film, based on a story by George Lucas, starred Val Kilmer, Joanne Whalley, and Warwick Davis. The tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed, however it is known via the artwork (pictured) that it will feature a Digital Copy of the film.

The upcoming 2019 “30th Anniversary” Blu-ray release is available to pre-order now over at Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. Stay tuned for any updates regarding this release. No word if it will receive a new video transfer or not, as the film was previously released on Blu-ray Disc back in 2013.

Mike Judge’s “Office Space” gets 20th Anniversary Blu-ray release in January

The 1999 Mike Judge written & directed film “Office Space“ starring Ron Livingston is getting a “20th Anniversary“ Blu-ray Disc release on January 8th, 2019 via Fox. This comedy co-starred Jennifer Aniston, David Herman, Ajay Naidu, Diedrich Bader, Stephen Root, and Gary Cole. The tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not been detailed, so I can’t say if it will feature a new video transfer or any new extras – as of now. Stay tuned for any further updates. As of now get to see the cover art via the pre-order listing for the Blu-ray over at Amazon. It is known (via the art) that this will include a Digital Copy of the film.

Tyler Perry film “Nobody’s Fool” with Tiffany Haddish on Blu-ray in February

The 2018 Tyler Perry written & directed romantic comedy “Nobody’s Fool“ starring Tiffany Haddish is coming to Blu-ray Disc on February 12th, 2019 (just in time for Valentine’s Day) via Paramount. The film co-stars Tika Sumpter, Omari Hardwick, Mehcad Brooks, Amber Riley, and Whoopi Goldberg. Tech specs for the release haven’t been detailed, however you can very likely expect 1080p video and a lossless 5.1 mix. I’ll update this post once I hear any specific aspect ratio and audio format, , so stay tuned. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD and Digital Copy of the film included. The 1971 Jack Lemmon directed film “Kotch“ starring Walter Matthau is slated come to Blu-ray Disc on February 5th, 2019 via Kino Lorber Studio Classics. The film, based on the novel  of the same title, was nominated for a total of four Oscars. It co-starred Deborah Winters, Felicia Farr, Charles Aidman, Ellen Geer, Biff Elliot. This upcoming Blu-ray comes from a new 4K scan of the original film negative. Tech specs for the release have not yet been fully detailed, however it is known that the 1080p video will be in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio. The Blu-ray is available to pre-order over at Amazon and directly via Kino Lorber. Bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed below.
