Dark City is getting a standard 4K in November

The 1998 movie “Dark City” will get standard edition 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases on November 18th via Arrow Video. Alex Proyas directed and co-wrote the film. The movie starred Rufus Sewell, William Hurt, Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Connelly, and Richard O’Brien. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes. NOTE: This release only includes the Director’s Cut and not the theatrical cut.

The movie has received a 4K restoration from the original 35mm camera negative. Director of photography Dariusz Wolski approved this. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10. It will consist of Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround, and 2.0 stereo lossless sound. The Blu-ray is set to be released by Lionsgate Home Entertainment and will be available at most retailers. James DeMonaco directed and co-wrote the film. It stars Pete Davidson, John Glover, Ethan Phillips, and Bruce Altman.

The “Back to the Future” trilogy and franchise will celebrate its 40th anniversary with new 4K UHD Blu-ray releases on November 4th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. This will include a limited-edition 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured above) for each film, as well as a 4K UHD Blu-ray 40th Anniversary Trilogy, and a very limited-edition 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook 40th Anniversary Trilogy Giftset. That giftset (pictured further below) will be an exclusive at the retailer Amazon.
