Animated film Abominable on 4K and Blu-ray

The 2019 DreamWorks and Pearl animated film “Abominable” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on December 17th via Universal. The film, directed by Jill Culton & co-directed by Todd Wilderman, features a voice cast of Chloe Bennet, Albert Tsai, Tenzing Norgay Trainor, Joseph Izzo, Tsai Chin, Michelle Wong, Eddie Izzard, and Sarah Paulson. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include 2160p 4K video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and HDR10+ forms of High Dynamic Range along with Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting its counterpart on Blu-ray, the Blu-ray getting the DVD counterpart, and each getting a digital code (copy) of the film included. Original 1932 Scarface film comes to Blu-ray

The classic 1932 original “Scarface“ film produced by Howard Hughes is finally coming to Blu-ray Disc – as an individual release – on November 19th via Universal MOD. The film, co-directed by Howard Hawks & Richard Rosson, starred Paul Muni, Ann Dvorak, Karen Morley, Osgood Perkins, C. Henry Gordon, George Raft, Vince Barnett, and Boris Karloff. This isn’t the first time this film has been available, as it was released (exclusively) as part of the “Scarface” 1983 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition box set earlier this year. However, as mentioned, this will be the first time the film will be available on the Blu-ray format as an individual release. Speaking of which, this will be a MOD (manufacture on demand) Blu-ray title for Universal – as noted. This means that it will only be available online via Amazon and others. The tech specs for the release include 1080p HD Black & White video in the 1.37:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD 2.0 Master Audio Mono sound. Downton Abbey movie on Blu-ray in December

The 2019 motion picture of “Downton Abbey“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 17th, according to retail sources, via Universal. The film, a continuation of the TV series (of the same title), was directed by Michael Engler. The cast includes Hugh Bonneville, Matthew Goode, Tuppence Middleton, Elizabeth McGovern, Imelda Staunton, Michelle Dockery, Allen Leech, Kate Phillips, Penelope Wilton, and Maggie Smith. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD 7.1 Master Audio sound. There will be two different Blu-ray releases available of the film but both will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film included. The Blu-ray release of the film will come in a standard form (pictured above) as well as in a “Deluxe Limited Edition“ Blu-ray set form (pictured below). The Deluxe Limited Edition set is now available for preorder over at Amazon and Best Buy. The limited edition box set includes physical extras in the forms of a collectible photo book and recipe cards.

The 2019 biopic “Judy“ starring Renée Zellweger (as actress Judy Garland)  is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 24th, via Lionsgate. The film, directed by Rupert Goold, co-stars Finn Wittrock, Rufus Sewell, Jessie Buckley, Michael Gambon, and Bella Ramsey. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p HD video in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound.
