Blue Underground brings more to 4K August

Blue Underground today officially confirmed that 2 more titles were coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray format via the distributor which are both Lucio Fulci directed films including “The House by The Cemetery” (1981) and “The New York Ripper” (1982), coming August 25th. It’s certainly worth noting both of these received 4K restorations last year. This comes as some excellent news that was first revealed during a podcast interview featuring the company owner & celebrated horror director, William Lustig.

So, as of now, according to folks at Blue Underground, we’re awaiting a full press release with the full tech specs and full details regarding the upcoming 4K releases. Also, you can not yet find either of the titles available for preorder anywhere, that I know of, but stay tuned for an obvious update on that. In the meantime, you can listen to the podcast episode #190 of “Shock Waves” where William Lustig discusses the company starting to do 4K UHD Blu-ray releases in general and unveiled this news. For Apple users, here‘s the link to that podcast. More info coming soon!

“Sherlock Holmes” films on 4K in September

The Guy Ritchie directed films “Sherlock Holmes” (2009) and “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” (2011) starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are both coming to the 4K UHD Blu-ray format on September 1st, via Warner, according to retailers. Neither the tech specs and bonus materials for each release have yet been detailed, but stay tuned for an update on that. It is however known (from the art) that the releases will both come in the form of “combo pack” meaning they’ll both get their Blu-ray counterpart included as well as a digital copy of the film. Right now you can find both films on 4K UHD Blu-ray listed for preorder over at retailer Best Buy. You can also find just the first film on 4K available for preorder over at retailer Target. Lastly, you cannot yet find these films for available preorder over at Amazon but stay tuned for a definite update on that.
