Nobody with Bob Odenkirk on Blu-ray and 4K in June

The 2021 film “Nobody” starring Bob Odenkirk is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on June 22nd via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Ilya Naishuller, co-stars Connie NielsenChristopher LloydMichael IronsideRZA, and Aleksey Serebryakov. It’s also worth noting, at the time of writing this, the film is currently “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-66 (66 gigabytes) disc. And the tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-50 (50 gigabytes) disc. Both the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that the 4K will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, the Blu-ray will include its DVD counterpart, and each will come with a digital code (copy) of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray both available for preorder over at Amazon. The bonus materials set to be included on both the 4K and Blu-ray physical releases are listed below.

Guy Ritchie film Wrath of Man comes to Blu-ray in July

The 2021 film Wrath of Man is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on July 13th via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Guy Ritchie, stars Jason StathamHolt McCallanyJosh Hartnett, Jeffrey Donovan, Scott Eastwood, Rocci Williams, and Andy Garcia. The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix — unspecified which format it will be in, although likely in DTS-HD Master Audio. Stay tuned for a possible update (clarification) regarding the sound format for the release. It will come with a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. It would appear that no bonus materials will be included with this Blu-ray release.

Friday the 13th 8-Movie Collection on Blu-ray in August

The Friday the 13th 8-Movie Collection is officially coming to Blu-ray via Paramount Home Entertainment on August 10th. This 6-disc set will include the following films from the franchise:

  • “FRIDAY THE 13th” (1980)
  • “FRIDAY THE 13th Uncut” (1980)
  • “FRIDAY THE 13th Part 2″ (1981)
  • “FRIDAY THE 13th  Part 3″ (1982)
  • “FRIDAY THE 13th  Part IV: The Final Chapter” (1984)
  • “FRIDAY THE 13th  Part V: A New Beginning” (1985)
  • “FRIDAY THE 13th   Part VI: Jason Lives” (1986)
  • “FRIDAY THE 13th  Part VII: The New Blood” (1988)
  • “FRIDAY THE 13th   Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan” (1989)

The tech specs for the films in this set have yet to be detailed. Also, the bonus materials have not yet been fully listed but there will be extras, as described below.

The Transformers The Movie from 1986 on 4K in August

The 1986 animated film The Transformers: The Movie is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on August 3rd, via Shout! Factory, in a 35th Anniversary Limited Edition SteelBook. The film, directed by Nelson Shin, featured the voice talents of Peter Cullen, Eric Idle, Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy, Robert Stack, Frank Welker, and Orson Welles. The movie has received a new restoration from a new 4K transfer. Tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Stereo lossless sound mixes. The release will also include a Blu-ray of the film in HD, presented in the 1.33:1 full-frame aspect ratio and DTS-HD MA 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo sound mixes.

NOTE: Despite the 4K UHD Blu-ray format being mostly region-free, this release could perhaps be region A locked, it appears. However, it has been stated that there will be both a standard and a SteelBook 4K UHD Blu-ray releases available in both the US and UK this September. Specifically, on September 28th you’ll see those 4K physical versions released to further celebrate the 35th anniversary.
