Venom Let There Be Carnage on 4K and Blu-ray

The 2021 sequel “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on December 14th, via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, according to multiple retail sources. The film, directed by Andy Serkis, stars Tom Hardy, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, and Stephen Graham.

UPDATE: This title has been officially announced by the studio [Sony] today (11/18). The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray both will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that the 4K will include its Blu-ray counterpart and the Blu-ray will include its DVD counterpart. Each version will include a digital code (copy) of the film.

You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray both available for preorder at Amazon, as well as listed as “coming soon” over at retailer Best Buy, with both currently showing the 12/14 release date. Best Buy will also be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below), which now is listed as coming soon. It’s not yet a functional preorder listing, but keep checking back.

It’s also most certainly worth noting that retailer Target will be getting an exclusive Fan Art Edition release on Blu-ray (pictured below), which is now available for preorder. This version will include (what appears to be) six collectible cards featuring fan art.

The film, directed & co-written by Natalie Morales and co-written by Mark Duplass, stars Mark Duplass and Natalie Morales. It also is worth mentioning that, at the time of writing, this movie happens to be “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio and a lossless audio presentation (likely in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1). 1992 film The Lover is coming to 4K in January

The 1992 film The Lover” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in the United States for the first time on January 25th, 2022 via MPI Home Video, according to multiple retail sources. The film, directed by & adapted from the novel by Jean-Jacques Annaud, starred Jane March, Tony Ka Fai Leung, Frédérique Meininger, and Jeanne Moreau (as narrator). It should be noted that this movie, also known as “L’amant” in its original French title, received an Academy Award nomination for “Best Cinematography” back in 1993.

The tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not at all yet been detailed. It is known that the release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it’ll be a 2-disc set with the Blu-ray counterpart. You cannot yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon, but stay tuned for an update on that. In the meantime, you can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at retailer Best Buy and online retailer Deep Discount. Lastly, considering this film has already been released on 4K UHD Blu-ray in Germany, it’s safe to say this should include the very same HDR (high dynamic range) in the form of at least HDR10 and possibly Dolby Vision. It’s most certainly worth noting, at the time of writing, that this film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound on a BD-66 disc. The 1992 film Juice will be officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 11th, 2022 via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, celebrating its 30th anniversary, directed by Ernest R. Dickerson, starred Omar Epps, Jermaine Hopkins, Khalil Kain, Samuel L. Jackson, Queen Latifah, and the late Tupac Shakur.

The tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed but you can expect a 2160p video presentation with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and a lossless sound mix.
