Ghostbusters Afterlife on 4K and Blu-ray in February

The 2021 sequel “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on February 1st, 2022 via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.  The film, directed and co-written by Jason Reitman, stars Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Annie Potts, and Ernie Hudson.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p video presentation in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound.  The 4K release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its Blu-ray counterpart, and each release will come with a digital code (copy) of the film.  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.

It’s most certainly worth noting that an elaborate box set will be available on 4K UHD Blu-ray as well, which includes the film, called the Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection that I’ll be detailing further in another news story.  Stay tuned for the full details on that release.  Also, a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) seems to be coming for the film as an exclusive over at online retailer Zavvi and possibly also at another physical retailer [Best Buy].  The latter of that has yet to be confirmed.  Stay tuned for a possible update.

2001 film Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius on Blu-ray March

The 2001 Nickelodeon animated film Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius is coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 8th, 2022 via Paramount Home Entertainment according to retailers. This will mark the very first time that the film has been available in Blu-ray format. The Academy Award-nominated animated film directed by John A. Davis, which spawned a 2002 Nickelodeon TV series, featured the voice talents of Debi Derryberry, Mark DeCarlo, Megan Cavanagh, Candi Milo, Andrea Martin, Carolyn Lawrence, Martin Short, and Patrick Stewart.

Man on the Moon gets Special Edition Blu-ray February

The 1999 film Man on the Moon is officially getting a Special Edition Blu-ray Disc release on February 22nd, 2022 via KL Studio Classics. The film, directed by Milos Forman, which was based on the life of Andy Kaufman, starred Jim Carrey, Danny DeVito, Paul Giamatti, and Courtney Love.

The movie has received a new 2K master, “approved and Color Graded by Cinematographer Anastas Michos.” The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround and 2.0 Stereo lossless sound mixes. Spider-Man No Way Home is coming to 4K and Blu-ray

The 2021 film “Spider-Man: No Way Home” appears to be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray next year via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, according to retailer listings. There’s no official release date at this point, but stay tuned for a later news story when it gets fully announced.

The film, directed by Jon Watts, stars Tom HollandZendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Wong, Jamie Foxx, Willem Dafoe, and Alfred Molina.

The tech specs for the 4K and Blu-ray releases have not yet been detailed, nor have bonus materials, but stay tuned for an update on that [as said before] when the title gets officially announced. The 1988 film The Accused is coming to Blu-ray Disc for the very first time on March 15th, 2022 via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Jonathan Kaplan, starred Kelly McGillis, Jodie Foster (in an Oscar-winning role), Bernie Coulson, Leo Rossi, Ann Hearn, Carmen Argenziano, and Steve Antin. As noted, this film had previously never been available on Blu-ray stateside and this will mark its debut to the format.

The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation [in presumably the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio] with Dolby TrueHD 5.1 lossless surround sound. You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. No bonus materials will be included with this release.

Magnum P.I. The Complete Series on Blu-ray in March

The 1980 original TV show Magnum, P.I.: The Complete Series is coming to Blu-ray Disc in a box set on March 22nd, 2022 via Mill Creek Entertainment. The show, created by Donald P. Bellisario & Glen A. Larson, starred Tom Selleck, John Hillerman, Roger E. Mosley, and Larry Manetti. This will be the very first time that the show has been available on the Blu-ray format and it also has received a restoration, as noted on the back of the packaging (and below).

Tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.33:1 (4×3) aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo sound, spanning across a 30-disc set. 2007 film Shooter with Mark Wahlberg on 4K March

The 2007 film Shooter is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray for the first time, in a Limited Edition SteelBook to celebrate its 15th Anniversary, on March 15th, 2022 via Paramount Home Entertainment, according to Amazon. The film, directed by Antoine Fuqua, starred Mark Wahlberg, Michael Peña, Danny Glover, Kate Mara, and Elias Koteas.

UPDATE: The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.

The release will come with just the 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc and not a Blu-ray. It will also include a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook available for preorder over at Amazon. No word yet on what bonus materials will be included. Stay tuned for further details regarding this upcoming release.
